Jones: No Decision On Gray Uniforms

Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Wednesday on Knoxville radio station WNML, "The Sports Animal," that the Vols haven't decided yet whether they will wear their gray alternate uniforms this season.
But even if they do, he said, it won't be for Tennessee's home game Oct. 4 against Florida. While rumors have suggested that the Vols might wear their "Smokey gray" uniforms for their showdown with the Gators, Jones said he "can assure you" that Tennessee won't wear the alternate uniforms for that game.

Vols defensive line coach Steve Stripling said Wednesday that he “absolutely” expects Saulsberry to play Saturday during Tennessee’s SEC opener at 12th-ranked Georgia, and Saulsberry should bring “a lot to the table” for a defensive line that’s a bit short on depth and experience.

Third down for what? Vols No. 1 nationally

After holding 12th-ranked Georgia to 1-of-10 on third downs during Saturday's 35-32 loss in Athens, the Vols — led by second-year defensive coordinator John Jancek — are now ahead of Louisville, rival Alabama and everyone else in the national standings.
Tennessee has now allowed just 11 third-down converstions in 53 attempts. That's a 20.75 percent mark.
