I'm a big believer in waiting till signing day to count your recruits. And even then you run across admission issues en sech. Also, anyone surprised Strong is grabbing a few Florida players isn't paying attention given his history with Florida.

I'm on record with this......Strong will bring in his recruits. More importantly, as the team is molded in his image, and has success, he'll re-gain the state of Texas recruit wise.

However, gaining inroads into Florida is HUGE. Especially if he's pulling 4 star athletes.

Same thing happened with Oklahoma opening that pipeline to California.

Mack had a Cali pipeline.......but it never really bore much fruit outside of Ricky Williams and Mack didn't even recruit him.

Texas just got 4* DT Duvonta Lampkin commitment. Choices were UT,OU,LSU


Two good recruits in a couple days. Little bit of a roll going.

Texas needed to look beyond its borders.


It made little sense to not explore other states. Everyone comes to Texas for guys, but Mack Brown never bothered to look at other states. It was a negative trade imbalance.


I am happy Charlie is expanding the recruiting angle towards a more energetic wider net.
It might not work, but it is at least worth exploring.

All it takes is a few wins and Texas will have recruiting locked down again.

It was like the purge of those players re-energized the recruiting.


Instead of it being negative, Texas has suddenly had its best week of recruiting in a long while.


I applauded Charlie for kicking players off the team that were not "on board".


I am doubly happy that the immediate aftermath was a great recruiting week.


Sometimes that resonates with guys. Some recruits respond to the no-nonsense clear direction approach.

Also offered Robinson from Denton Guyer. 2017 kid. They are saying he is the best of the QBs from there. They produced J.w. Walsh, OSU starter, and Heard (4star QB last yr) recently. Best part is he is the starter. His back-up is a 4 star QB Kevin Dillman that has signed with Nebraska. How often does a sophomore beat out 4 star recruit committed to a legit FBS program?
