Oh I agree and I know as Pens fans we will hear the crap about the past with Matt Cooke...but it is stupid for any player on any team to do this.

Yep, doubt this guy the Matt Cooke treatment, that was as bad as anything Cooke has done.

I can't believe what Shawn Thornton did - that's just, as low as it gets

Why in there no comment from Pens fans on Neal kneeing Marchand in the head while he was prone on the ice which is what caused the whole thing?

Since it's on NHL Network, and I don't get NHL Network, but because NHL Network counts as a national broadcast, I can't watch it on Gamecenter.

This is stupid. :tsk:

It's also on NESN (New England Sports Network). Can you get that?

My apologies for getting the starting time wrong.

Cause we didn't even see the replay till right now. Looked bad.

Shawn Thorton being a **** was all the broadcast showed.

Not very bright....

Oh so Thornton's is a shit ass move but Neal only fits the not very bright category. That's awesome. You know what kind of injury could have come from that right?

I had no idea that had happened until the penalty was announced. Now that I see it, I'm surprised he didn't get more than he did. Stupid, dirty, and unnecessary.

But if that's what started the whole thing, why did Thornton go after Orpik? And how can you even remotely imply that it justifies it? (I know you didn't say it directly, but saying Neal caused the whole thing does suggest that point.)

That's awesome. Neal targets a players head while he's on the ice and gets only 2 minutes

If you think it was intentional, I understand your point.

There was no doubt about the Thornton play though.

Feel free to quote where I say it justifies anything? You're all up in arms about Thornton yet Neal targeting a players head who is down on the ice with his knee is just a "meh". At least Orpik was on his feet when Thornton went after him. what he did after he went down was wrong but no worse than what Neal did

Seriously didn't see the severity of it until the replay it was totally stupid and unnecessary.

Thornton gets maybe a game. Everyone knows the Boston organization is notorious for blowing the refs and Bettman.

Bush league move by Neal too. He should get a game for that shot to the head. The league will protect Boston. They always do.

Sheesh, man, calm down. I told you, quite clearly, that I wasn't even aware of the play until his penalty was announced. Once I saw it, I deemed it dirty, unnecessary, and stupid, and was surprised he didn't get more. Read my post, for crying out loud, before you chastise my morality and fairness.

And, in the spirit of reading my post, I said you didn't directly say that Neal's actions justified Thornton's, but that the language you used did imply it, even if unintentionally.

Yeah, and the league did a whole lot when Ulf Samuelsson was ending the careers of many players in the 90's. Save your whining
