How are any of you disappointed with this year?? I mean the reality is that you are and have been for about the last 4 years, a .500 team. I know the media hypes you guys every year because of the talent on the team but at some point you guys have to stop buying into that right?? I mean is anyone really shocked you are 5-5 when you went 8-8 each of the last 2 years?

Almost seems like a troll thread, given that its begun by an Atlanta fan. I mean, by the OP's own admission, the Cowboy's this year are pretty much a non-stroy. The Falcons, on the other hand ... not so much, right?

My expectations have already been lowered to where I hardly feel a thing.

On the plus side, I haven't seen any "Who's the best team in Texas?" threads lately.

So a guy cant be an NFL fan?? So I guess you have no basis to talk about Atlanta, Dallas, KC or anyone other than Denver so get the fuck out the thread if you have nothing to offer :) Now back to the question ( since Im interested ). I see alot of Cowboy fans on here speaking as if the season is a surprise or a disappointment. Just curious as to why that is. I know I am SUPER disappointed in my teams year but my team has been really good for 5 years or so so that makes sense. The Cowboys have been average for a long time so why surprised that they are again?? Not trolling just seriously wondering.

I dont know what the deal is with the cowboys they have a probowl QB,WR,TE, LB, DE, depending on the year a pro bowl RB there should be no reason they should be .500

Man I'm far from a Boys fan, but I get why the media hypes them and I struggle to understand why the Boys can't go the distance. I think their roster is very talented. Good QB, great WRs, top 5 tight end... their D is really struggling this year which is weird because it wasn't terrible last year. Course the game against the Broncos didn't help but yah.

They've played some good teams this year though. @ KC, @ New Orleans, Denver, even San Diego was no slouch going into that game.

I'd say if they had an easier schedule... maybe played the AFC North or AFC South instead, they'd be 7-3 or something.

What talent are you speaking of? Aside from Ware, Lee & Bryant the rest of the team is average at best.

There's one very simple reason why the Cowboys can't go the distance, Romo is the most UNCLUTCH QB I've ever seen. This guy makes the most brutal mistakes at the worst times. It really is quite funny at times. If it's late in the 4th quarter & the game is on the line I just wait for Romo to blow it because I know it's likely to happen.

Coaching.. Get rid of Garrett. Remember when he iced his own kicker? Jerry Jones makes it all a circus as well.

Brutal mistakes can't be hung solely on Romo. The Cowboys team as a whole has a pension for screwing up. Passes are dropped , the ball fumbled, and penalties called at critical times all denote a culture of expectations of losing close games.

2 reasons for the Cowboys mediocrity, the owner and the QB. Tony has never been able to win a really big game.

Injury's lack of a good RB,and just not good sync among some of the top talent have made the Cowboy's miss a lot of possible W's imo.

Some seasons for whatever reason teams can just under perform like the Texans they are a perfect example and the Falcons,Cowboy's will bounce back imo they always do in time and they have the weapons to do it they just need to clean up some of that roster,,like Austin that guy i knew was going to flop after he was signed big money then they need a good RB a wrecking ball type one to get those 3-4 yards when they need them.
