Should League Get Rid of MVP Award

It seems like the Mvp trophy the past 10 to 15 years has been Ruined beyone repair, maybe they should just get rid of it. When Steve Nash and Nowitzki have more mvp's combined than Shaq and Kobe, you know the award is worthless. And now you got a guy Like Lebron who should maybe have 1 or 2 at most with 4, it just shows how worthless the award is.

Lebron with 4 Mvps? REally? Come on. Durant had better numbers then Lebron the past 2 years. And Kobe clearly was a better player for the first 2....So why does Lebron have 4? Because of his marketing machine called Espn and Nike. They even try and say Lebron's a great defender when his defensive stats show how medicore he really is...

...I'm sorry but the Mvp award is a joke and no one knows what it means anymore. Is it the best guy on the team with the most stars? Clearly it's not the best player in the game. Otherwise guys like Kobe would have 6 or 7 mvps. It's not the most important guy to a team. We saw how even when Lebron and wade sat out last season the Heat continued to ROLL over teams since they're so stacked.

Maybe it's time to get rid of the award since the voters have no idea what the award actually represents. Just saying....

To me the most important metric is Value Over Replacement Player in any sport. When they are incongruous then one must look closely at what Most Valuable Player really means.

It goes to the player who has helped his team out the most, the player that gets his team in the best position to win at the end of the season, and the player that has all-around great stats, not just scoring.

Lebron does all that, so just give him the award every year.

We have objective measurements for these things like PER, EFF, Win Shares, +/1, VORP. Most of the time these measurements confirm the "eye test".

Stop blaming the selection committee and start pointing at the athletes you root for, because if they were truly superior players guys like Nash would never win the award. So its either the players weren't as good as they were, they didn't truly try to be that much better than there competition yearly or both

Nash definitely deserved those two MVP's and should've gotten a third the year Dork won. Statistically speaking he was the MOST valuable player in the league 3 years straight whether you Laker homers like it or not. I'm not saying he's better than Kobe, because he's not... but those 2 years he won he was the best player in the regular season.
