Lebron is knocking on the door and will most likely make the top 10.

A few criteria for a respectful poll, imo...

1) Kobe has to be on the list, somewhere;
2) LBJ should either be very very low on top 10 or not on it at all (he will get there if he keeps going);
3) Magic should be #3 at the very very lowest.

How the Hell is Hakeem Duncan Shaq ahead of Kobe ??

It was between Duncan and Kobe for that 10 spot. Didn't want to look too much like a homer considering my top 2! I tend to favor bigs which is why I have Shaq and Hakeem above Kobe.

@lakersrule it makes sense

as for LBJ not being on the list...

regular season:

There are 5 players in the history of the NBA with 4 MVPs.

There are 10 players who have 2 or more Finals MVPs.

He is 3rd all time in PPG.

2nd all time in PER.

6th all time in WS/48 minutes.

In total WS he is 23rd (152.6), Kobe is 17th (173.33).

In the playoffs:

he is 6th all time for total win shares. He has 29.54. Kobe-28.26, Kareem-35.56, Duncan-33.08, MJ-39.76

3rd all time for WS/48

3rd all time for PER

Saying LBJ does not belong in the top 10 is inaccurate. He already has a body of work that is better than most of those in the top 10, and he still has 3-5 years of prime left.

If that's one of your main criteria's then why do you have Wilt 3rd?

The 7 players you list below him all have more hardware, except for Olajuwon who is tied with Wilt.

Wilt is the greatest offensive force to play the game. Those other guys below him aren't and don't even remotely come close.

Wilt has 5 total MVPs:

Shaq: 4
Kobe: 3
Hakeem: 3
Duncan: 5 (but in a weaker era)
Kareem: 8 (but only 2 post-merger)
Oscar: ZERO

LeBron also hasn't played on the downhill of his career: the time when a player's stats go downhill.

Very true, but we can not say for sure he has even reached his peak.

Thats why for the 38965th time, you Lebron fans need to calm down and let his career play out more.

Steve Nash almost had back to back to back MVPs while on the Suns. His third try he got second behind his buddy Nowitzki.
