He has an interest in the money that multiple SEC teams in the CFP would bring to his school.

That's exactly why this committee is worse than the coaches poll in conflict of interest
Tideguy was being facetious ... he was ripping Arky football.

And, just because he is the chairman, he doesn't get more than one vote. So far, from what we have seen, there is no SEC advantage other than the fact that they play better football than everyone else.

My complaint runs deeper than just this guy. They ALL have self interest to get as much money for their schools as they can and that means more teams from their conference.

It is the exact definition of a conflict of interest

While conoleeza Rice is an Alum of Stanford, she is also an Alabama fan. So she will represent the SEC interest on one front atleast.

Look, we can debate this to times end, but to find 12 people that do not have ties to this would be close to impossible, if they were required to know anything about football at all. This appears to be a pretty good group and to whine, bitch and moan before they have done one thing pretty much shows that most people just need something to be unhappy about.

So basically you're saying he forgot everything he learned while at KSU under Coach Snyder, the master game planner?

Bill Snyder is one of the classiest people in sports. That includes everything in high school, college and pro. The man is a model for everyone to admire. Do you really think Bob Stoops measures up to that standard?! And Bill Snyder is 3X the coach Stoops is. Give them equal talent and Snyder will beat Stoops like a drum. I truly believe that if Snyder had the talent that Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, etc. have he'd be unstoppable.

I know that, but you would think Stoops would have at least learned how to game plan while he was learning under Snyder...

He obviously didn't. Especially when he's playing a team that has more than 1 week to prepare before playing Oklahoma. He grimaces and contorts on the sidelines but he doesn't COACH. And he has no "magic". He's a good coach overall but not a great coach by any stretch of the imagination.

Don't forget, 11 years at Michigan as associate athletic director. Michigan doesn't need to do shit now, automatic bid in the playoffs what what!
That is the only way they make the playoff.

Deal with it.

Deal with a stupid system...

All they had to do was not make it a committee so small as to allow one idiot voice to have such a huge impact. Isn't asking too much. It's simple math. Less slices in a pie means more pie.

Why is this so hard for TEAM SECers to get?

Only fitting, as the SEC is the "chairman" of the CFB world.

Teams win titles, not conferences. Over half of your conference is terrible. You can pimp out Bama if you want, they're about the only legit BCS title contender in the SEC. If UF had any kind of offense, ya'll would be up there, too....

What I get is that no matter how many people, or who those people are there will always be a few who will whine and complain as this ultimately is their nature. Cannot please all of the people all of the time, so might as well just make the choices and await the inevitable horde of naysayers and whiners. Welcome to one of the two classifications.

Why not put in a system not so easily corruptible?

It's obvious this one is open to that and scrutiny. This is college football being arrogant. "Our people won't be corrupted!" They breath, eat, shit and do everything people do. They will be corrupted and will use their prejudices to benefit their team/conference.

Any process is corruptible. What i know of atleast one of the appointees says she is not known for her ability to be corrupted or swayed easily. Like i said before, let it ride out and see what they do the first time out, then complain if they are not picking based on correct criteria and being fair.

Wait and see is all we can do now of course. I just find it unfortunate we have to screw over a couple teams to realize its a bad system.

You're right any process can be corrupted. The AP poll is evidence of that. However there is enough of a curve to wash out most of the outliers. We won't have that luxury here

it is a bad publicity move by the NCAA. There has been a lot of SEC bias talk, whether or not it is true is irrelevant. This just feeds the perception. I would have taken someone with non-BCS ties to be the chairman. In an intelligent system, the panel would have consisted of one member from each AQ conference and at least 1 member from outside the AQ conferences. That would have given the perception that the NCAA is unbiased and fair.
