And the rumor of the week is that Sasha Vucacic is back in the states and working out with the Lakers attempting a comeback with Jordon Farmar and the Lakers team. In other words, he wants back in.

There is going to be some good competition for those b/u 3/4 spots with Harris, Kelly, Williams, and Landry. I hope these guys have been putting up tons of 3's in the gym!

I heard that Sasha wants back in the NBA. He could be a good fit in D'Antoni's offense with his outside shooting ability. I always liked his scrappy energetic defense, although sometimes it would lead to dumb fouls.

YEa, Lakersrule. I like what is going on in Lakerland and I like the Henry signing as well. If they fit in Goudelock, Morris, and Vucacic who all have substantial NBA experience, our backcourt can be something special and Kobe does not have to rush back. Also, I like the new big men and all of the tweeners (SF, PF) as well. Again, I believe we may just sneak up on people because we have nothing to lose.

Word out of team practices is that all Lakers on the roster are present and participating because they WANT to except for Kobe and Pau for obvious health reasons. The early descriptions are that Nash, Blake, Henry, and Kelly are looking mighty good!!

good news to hear starting off. don't know how good the team's gonna be, but it'll at least be interesting to find out...

I totally agree CL67. Metta recently stated he thinks the Lakers are going to win teh west. I am not sure I'd go that far but again, I think this team has some young, fast, athletic players and they are going to sneak up on alot of people. And I hope when they play Houston that they anniliate them and embarrass you know who.

How's this for setting a lofty goal? Yesterday, Metta World Peace appeared on ESPN's Max and Marcellus radio show to talk about the Lakers upcoming season. And, during the course of the interview, he revealed that the Lake Show has discussed breaking one of the records that Michael Jordan set with the Bulls during the 1995-96 NBA season when they went 72-10 and won an NBA title.
"We definitely want to beat the Bulls record and go 73-9," he admitted. "That's definitely something that I want to do…You try to snatch records before you leave this earth. You gotta try to do a lot of great things, so it's definitely a goal. With Dwight Howard, [Steve] Nash, Kobe [Bryant], myself, Pau [Gasol], and then [Antawn] Jamison and a lot of great additions, it's something that's possible."

I would take an 8 seed... what are you basing 9-11 on? so called experts opinions? I dont think anyone knows what they are capable of until we at least see how they play together in some preseason games. If they dont look like they have chemistry and still lack energy on the defensive end, then its justifiable.

As far as me, I base it on my opinion, and I'll explain it again.
I think barring injuries, 7 teams are a lock. Clippers, Spurs, Rockets, Ok City, Warriors,, Grizzlies, Nuggets.

Then, IMO, I would place Dallas next.

Then, 9-11, Lakers, Wolves, Blazers. Mix and match.

Then, to strengthen the opinion, let's remember your best player is coming off of major surgery, so what and when he can produce is a total unknown as of now.
