Reminded me of one of the better skits from SNL, back when it was actually funny...

"What if Superman was on the side of Germany in WW II?"

"I have X-ray vision. He is a Jew!"

I remember that skit

"He's a Jew!"

You've got to think its inevitable that Scosia is going to end up the doyer manager

I would have thought that 10 years ago, but now he arguably MORE known as an Angel than a Doggie.

I would not have thought Humm Baby was going to end up as a Doggie manager, would you? Granted, his playing career was not the same as Scioscia's, but he was a Doggie as well.

Thinking back, tough, we have done our fair share of raiding the Doggie alumni/front office over the last 30 years or so...

Craig
Baker
Evans
Tidrow
Peranoski
...

All those guys have made pretty major marks on he Giants organization.

I can do better than that!

Think they'll pay me $20 mill/yr to do so?

A two-year contract will suffice, with a $10 mill buyout.

Chad Billingsley officially headed for TJ surgery

Wow.

2of their top 3 (ok, if you count Ryu as their #3 instead of Bills, then top 4) pitchers out for a significant portion of the season already, and we are only 3 weeks into the season.

The Dodgers' once vaunted pitching depth is all but gone. Aaron Harang was rightly traded, Zack Greinke is recovering from a broken collarbone suffered during the brawl with Carlos Quentin and Chris Capuano is on the disabled list. Ironically, Capuano strained his calf while running in from the bullpen during the Greinke-Quentin brawl. Ahh, baseball, you are still undefeated.

The team has called on the likes of Ted Lilly (who actually pitched well on April 24 against the Mets) and Stephen Fife. Yikes. If those two falter before Greinke and Capuano are healthy, two Dodger prospects could get the call: Matt Magill and Zach Lee.

Too bad. Really.

Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez won't be switching back on his swing - latimes.com

Adrian Gonzalez says he will never have the power he used to have. I wonder if Agent Ned knew this. Probably wouldn't have mattered since a diminished AGon is still a big improvement over Loney and the Dodgers have money to burn.

They took the Becket and Crawford contracts specifically to get AGon, so if they did know, and still thought he was worth a 60Mpy price tag, then, uh, OK...

Yeah, it's pretty hilarious. They need to just cut Josh Bucket of Fried Chicken and Beers Beckett. Addition by subtraction. Crawford's been a nice surprise for them, but I doubt he will ever play well enough to justify his contract.

And back in '09, I would have GLADLY traded Bum, Alderson and Posey to SD for AGon.

I am now sitting firmly next to GiantsPack in the nightmare Giants dugout.

LOL, we would still be waiting for a WS if that had happened.

I made the observation either last year or the year before that we would have been better off if the doggies had taken Timmeh in '08. Then Kershaw likely would have been available for us instead...

Maybe but counterfactuals like that change the whole future, butterfly wings in China and all that.

I like how the 2008-2012 history played out for us, and for LA.
