If DDL wins it after TLJ lost, it will be a shame. TLJ was about 100 times as good in that movie. If being able to play a crazy uncle with a Midwestern accent is enough to give you an Academy Award, then half of Wisconsin and Iowa would cruise to an Oscar. TLJ, on the other hand, was spectacular.

I saw the Animated Shorts this year. Fresh Guacamole was the best of the five. However, there was a French short which was much better about a guy who ate paintings, which was only an Honorable Mention.

Any movie that spends the first ten minutes like a fourth grade history class, needing to hopelessly explain what is going on, doesn't deserve to be nominated for Best Picture. The contrast between that and ZDT was so clear in that regard. And yes, the historical liberties (get it...it's a pun) taken to make the movie more exciting were pretty depressing.
