Young team just did not bring it early. Lots of inexperienced mistakes by Kaepernick.

First of all, Kaepernick was not trusting his reads and was slow to release the ball on throws in the first half. He was waiting for the reciever to get open and it allowed defenders to push him out of the pocket and to get to the reciever to make them covered. The biggest one that I saw was when near the endzone on 3rd down and a couple yards to go he had Crabtree wide open near the sideline and it was his first option. If Crabtree caught that ball it was a TD or close to it with first a goal. Instead He ran to the sidelines and almost got sacked. Niners kick a FG instead. That was 4 points missed.

Second, on that long pass to Vernon Davis that was just off his finger tips. If caught that was a TD he clearly beat his defender and no safety was in position to catch him. When the ball was in the air you can see him look back and slow up. He then had to try and speed up again to try and catch up to it, but could not. If he ran at his normal speed it was a TD.

Third, the very first play lining up incorrectly pushed the niners back. Intead of a 20 yard gain and getting the field position in their favor they had to kick from the 18 yard line giving the field position advantage to the Ravens who capitalized For a TD.

Fourth, the secondary really sucked at playing zone defense all year. The corners play so much better man to man, but almost all first half they played zone. It took way to long to adjust. Then when they needed a stop in the 4th when all the momentum was on the Niners side after their missed 2 point convergent attempt they went back to zone and playing way back off the receivers. They drove down the field for the FG. This also almost always gave up 5-8 yards on first down making it easy to get first downs all first half and that final drive.

Fifth, that wasted time out in the third quarter on a first down was needed late to stop the clock to give the niners some chance to have a hail marry or a even a good drive. They would have had an extra 45 seconds on the clock. Ginn had a good return on that last free kick. 45 seconds from the 45 yard line is not hard to get some shots into the end zone.

Sixth, after that fumble recovery from Brown at the 25 yard line they were able to only get a FG. A TD there was needed. Kaepernick fell down on 3rd down instead of attempting a pass or running the ball. Sometimes the QB must trust his WR to make the play. The Ravens sure did and it resulted in many first downs on 3rd down deep down the field. So instead of punting it was a first and it was a 30 yard gain.

Seventh, where was the runs by Gore, James, or even Dixon from first and goal from the 7? They were getting great yards on runs with Ngata out. And the TD before that Gore ran for the TD easily. I think Roman went to what he did in Stanford instead of what the Niners are good at.

Eighth, when James fumbled there were 3 niners close to the ball and they looked at it, but none made any attempt to jump on the ball. What was up with that? Its the Super Bowl. Jump on every ball that might be close to being a fumble.

Ninth, if you get beat deep, at least touch the man on the ground Culliver!!!

Tenth, Ravens sure did get out of a lot of tackles behind the LOS. Aldon Smith missed one, Bowman missed two. Some were on 3rd down which would have resulted in a punt and once a FG attempt. Instead they resulted in TDs.

Eleventh, Brooks going off sides on 3rd down turned a FG into a TD. Also, in the 4th on the last drive Flacco ran to his side and instead of going after him, Brooks stood there with his back to the QB. Instead of an easy sack or at the least putting pressure on Flacco to hurry his throw or make him throw it away, was able to get a good throw off for close to a first down. That sack could have pushed the Ravens out of FG range.

Finally, Moss was so lackadaisical on some passes thrown his way. Resulting in an INT and a near INT and if caught was a first down. Instead the niners had to punt and guess what? A TD by Baltimore happened on the next drive. He needs to go. He was a good leader in the locker room, but he never performed for the team. I almost would rather have had Ginn starting over him at WR. Ginn at least can run fast still.

I know I am missing some, but these are the ones that really stuck in my mind.

D was horrible all postseason. And ya gore should have been given the rock on that last drive.

PFF graded this as Justin Smith's worst game since 2009. He couldn't get it down with one arm.

Haven't read all of this but the second point jumped out at me because I reviewed the play - If Davis had caught that pass Pollard (31) would have sent Davis into next month.

I like the commercial about "play 60". Bottom line from yesterday is that the Ravens played and coached for a greater part of the sixty than we did. Best we can do is learn from our mistakes, and (both players and coaches made plenty). Regroup, refocus, and return with vengeance and purpose. Capitolize when you get your chances and make no excuses!

This. We gotta learn how to play the whole game. Coaches and players both held accountable

How in the world do you get called for illegal procedure on the first play of the game? They ran that play in practice AT LEAST 50 times prepping for it. For anyone to not know where to line up is absolutely inexcusable.

Also brooks offsides penalty on the 3 rd down incompletion pass when it was 0-0. Ended of scoring on that drive. He seeks to always be offsides

Kaep once again not paying attention to the play clock on our final possession was the big timeout killer. It was a total waste of a timeout and one we needed after failing to convert on 4th down. If we still had both timeouts we would have got the ball back close to mid field with a minute left in the game.

The team was not prepared to play early in the game as evidenced by lining up wrong on the game's first play negating a 20 yard gain. You know they must have practiced that play a 100 times during the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl and they still couldn't get it right. The pass defense was simply horrendous!

Team started off slow again both offensively and defensively. Offense looked tentative at start. Defense no pass pressure. With exception of Green Bay game, this seems the pattern back to Miami game in regular season

I wanted Gore to run it in on our last possession, because as cool as TD passes are in the last minute, how often do you get the franchise runner run the game-winning TD in? That would have been a cool trivia point ten years from now. If you were a new fan, wouldn't you guess it was a Kaep pass to Crabtree? But you'd know, it was Gore.

I know that Green Bay and Atlanta must have tried to use it against him, but a better defense was able to do it much better.

I felt Davis did this in the Buffalo game, too, the one where Ale hurt his throwing hand. If he had kept running he'd have caught it. Plus, there was a game right after the QB switch that it looked like he consistently gave up on passes that weren't easy. I'm not saying it was in protest, just a coincidence. He has the tendency to hesitate a second. It's hard to do (a deep play) so I won't be too critical or say he quit, just hesitated that half second. Give the QB a chance, run as fast and fully as the QB thinks you will do, then see what happens, adjust if you think it's needed, not mid route.

Kaep was great in the comeback and was better than Smith would have been, but Kaep's even better, I think when we get off to that good start, NE game notwithstanding. With Smith, I think the game settles down and gets worse after a good start because the coach plays conservatively - 14-0 in the 2012 NFCC game, anyone? But at least it wasn't the coach trying to nurse a 3-0/7-0 lead like with Singletary.

Obviously, Smith has this problem and I think it would be there regardless of the coaching, but maybe the coaching is getting this to Kaep a little bit (obviously not every play). Protecting the ball is key, but I wonder if the coaching staff had some effect on Kaep like they did with Smith (with Kaep to a lesser extent). But then again, this was the Superbowl. Oh, and I'm not talking about the conservatism after the INT and Raven punt deep.

Sorry MH but you need to be corrected here - Needing large windows is for Smith a problem that begins with him having a weak arm and exacerbated by his history.

Kap has NONE of those issues - wondering if the coaching staff had some effect on Kap LIKE THEY DID WITH SMITH is ridiculous on every conceivable level.

Your continued effort to raise Smith's play by lowering Kap's even if by indirectly blaming the coaching staff is senseless - so please stop - seriously - please stop.
