Provide interested players a list of team contacts & phone numbers if interested, but don't let their phones ring off the hook unsolicited. More guys might have left already if they did it this way. The NCAA is moronic beyond comprehension.

And more hypocritical than I knew was even possible.

I do not know how other schools operate, but Beamer made a phone call to PSU and asked for permission to talk with a set of players that had contacted them. His view on transfers has always been that he will not contact a player, but will accept calls from players who wish to transfer. In his history, he has had one scholarship player transfer in that I know of.

It seems to me that some schools are doing this ethically & some are not. Which is hilarious to me since the sanctions rained down because of ethics & loss of control. The whole thing is a free for all with no set guidline for either one of those that was created by the penalizing organization. Its FUBAR:smash:

In other words, he actually followed the procedure exactly as outlined by the NCAA.

EXACTLY. How the fuck do you tell players they are being punished in the name of reinstating ethics and academics over football, and then let people do this??!?!?!?!

That is the way it should be done. I think it is unfair to the players that they are letting coaches do whatever they want to contact and solicit them non stop.

If they were serious about this, they just set a trap... They are taking notes on all schools not abiding by their procedures then are going to sanction them. This will take down 50% of the top 100 FBS programs, thus getting rid of many bowl games and easing the transition into their new moneymaker, the playoffs... YEAH FUCKING RIGHT

Nope, just seems like anything goes right now unless it is Penn State doing the wrong. How are people okay with this?

If I were Silas Redd I'd have my cell phone camera on every one of them.

Yep it is. It is crap. NCAA is wrong with this. Doesn't seem like they have any idea on what they are doing.

This is Mack Brown's stance as well. And I can't even remember if he's EVER had a transfer in.

We had a guy from Georgia come in last year because some guy named GoDAWGsicEm kept harassing him to come down into his parent's basement and look at pictures of hot chicks or something.
