Well if the Pats or Commanders move up they're probably going to have to surrender another 1st... if someone like the Titans or Giants move up then it's going to be 3 1sts and probably throwing in Jones for the Giants or another 2nd/3rd for the Titans...

And Peter King is a moron and most of what he posts is trash. He posts attention grabbing shit, so that's something... but it's still trash. Him saying the Bears are going to 'trade down' as part of his 'inside knowledge' should be taken with no credibility whatsoever and probably confirms that that Bears will actually take Williams. I'm not saying he's a liar, not sure where you came up with that conclusion, but I'm saying his football opinions are shit.
He's pretty connected. Which means he'll lie for teams, agents or basically anyone that he sees himself as a whore for.

Changing QB's won't fix all the other roster problems in Chicago.

A new QB won't change the fact daBears seriously lack offensive weapons.

I hope they do trade Fields. Get him the hell outta the Windy City.

They can't win with Fields. And they'll win even less drafting Williams.
Holy shit these ohio state justin fields knob slobbers really have no clue

Lol

Bears defense came on strong. Bears have a #1 WR and a bonafide TE.

Only Fields really sucks.

They lose all leverage taking a qb #1. The best they can get out of fields is a 3rd. Imo

If they can't get at least a 3rd round pick for him, or if they want to roll the dice of maybe getting a 2nd round pick, they can always sit on him. Teams have injuries early in training camp, right before the season, or early in the season. They might be willing to dump a 2nd round pick for a chance to save their season and find a guy who just needed a new environment to excel.

I hope he gets another chance in the NFL, but it's hard for me to view him as having a lot of potential anymore. I think he is just a slightly below average QB with a few slightly above average skills. I've been wrong many times and lost many fantasy league games because of my poor QB evaluation skills.

yeah conference and school really has no barring on if a player will succeed. Now if we are talking college coaches I could agree.
All the talk leading up the draft last year was Ohio St QB’s not succeeding in the NFL even though only 2 QB’s were first rounders. Stroud looks pretty damn good.
Caleb is unlike any QB we saw drafted from USC.
I think comparisons, floors, ceilings, etc. is all bullshit anyway. It’s just another point for these football guys to talk about even though 95% of the time they are wrong about these comparisons

I think it is actually an advantage to a QB to come from a smaller program. They seem to become better NFL starters if they aren't playing with elite players all over the field. There are exceptions, but over the past 15 years or so, it seems that many of the top 10 QB's in a season have come from smaller football programs.

I’d be surprised if he just sat quietly, too much distraction for them to not trade him

That's a good call, although if he wanted a guaranteed starting spot on a good team, that would almost guarantee him a spot. Every year it seems like there are at least 2-3 playoff calibre teams that lose their QB's in the first 4-6 weeks of the season.

You're acting like JF has had good talent around him since he got to Chicago.

And speaking of not having a clue. That's you actually.

Wasn't defending him in any way. But go ahead and tell me I'm wrong in saying many rookie QB's struggle during their first year. And with that I mean Williams.

Pay attention to this next part.

-->Hell I've already said I want daBears to get ride of him.<-- How is that as you put it "knob slobbers"?

You're always the idiot.

Fear of the unknown? That's really odd thing to say for something that happens all the time. Many top picks, not just QB's, don't live up to the hype of being drafted so high.

It's not as you put it fear of the unknown. It's being completely honest that top picks don't live up to expectations. And I'm not just talking about the NFL. It happens in the NBA too. Probably MLB & NHL.

My point was daBears need a lot more than just another QB. Very few QB's have good/great rookie seasons. Haven't really followed any of the pre-draft hype. But has Williams been called a can't miss prospect? If he has ship JF outta the Windy City ASAP.

What I say next is unrelated to this conversation.

"all they can do is trust the scouting"

^^^

That's something Josh McD didn't do when he wasted a 1st rounder on Tebow. But at least it wasn't a high pick, 20-something.

Caleb has been called a generational prospect, but not by everyone.

Oh good deal. Not a USC or OK fan so really didn't see him much in college. Pretty sure he started his career as a Sooner.

Just stop the BS goofball.

You accused me of over-pimping Fields.

I didn't do anything like that.
