Like I posted in July, my buddy who now lives in Riverside County said all the talk down there is Seattle. They say he doesn't want a big city like L.A.. Now that he can't pitch, who does that favor? We don't need immediate pitching.Not sure about how the Dodgers are set up next year for pitching.

See that doesn’t really make sense. Sure it’s Anaheim but he still chose them over Seattle the first time. If that is really something he wants then I would think he’d resign with the Angels if that is important to him. Anaheim isn’t LA and is a lot more small market feel than Seattle, SF or San Diego. Any team he chooses though is going to be basically NY for at least the first two full years.

The Mariners and Dodgers are set up the best, but the Padres owner seems to have an unlimited budget. The Giants attempted last year to get Judge and Correa so they won’t be shy. Realistically though if the Angels were a decently run franchise (alot blame goes to Dipoto for that) that would be a good option. But they might be one of the worst team in baseball history next year unless they go bananas in FA this offseason.

Yeah, that's pretty disgraceful, regardless of our standings.

This doesn't say much about the rest of our road trip, especially if we have to rely on Kirby next time he starts. He pretty much ended this one before we even scored those runs.

Now he could decide big market is where he wants to be because it gives him the best chance to win. If so, all previous thoughts are out the window. Don't really care either way and I don't think it matters because I don't think Stanton will foot the bill for him anyways. Right now as a non pitcher, all he does is improve our RBI guy from 84 to 95 if we sign him and Teo walks. Is that worth an extra $20, $30, $40 million a year? I doubt Stanton will think so. And while Ohtani will be the bigger draw, we are selling out as of late anyways.

I think if Teo walks Ohtani is still worth. He will still be able to play the field if he doesn’t get the surgery. So it still allows for the rotating DH. Just looking at the Kraken as an example and most recently Colorado offering a contract to Deion when they didn’t have the money, but the next day they sold enough season tickets and suites to cover it. And IMO the value of Root goes up especially since they are in this quandary of cord cutting and the local broadcasts for other teams going bankrupt. If Stanton and the rest of the board play it well, they could acquire those on the cheap
