I like Ohtani but he's just a sore arm away from them losing a their top pitcher AND their top bat, its too risky. It's really neat what he's doing but I don't see it as sustainable for the long term. Plus as others have said the Mariners realistically aren't going to sign him, well hear all these rumors connecting him to the Mariners then he'll sign somewhere else leaving the Mariners too late to sign other quality players, again.

You don't need to trade anybody since he's a FA. Dodgers/Padres/Yankees spend money for a chance at a WS. Mets spend but slide but you get my point. This franchise is not like TB where every guy they bring up makes impact plays so you have to go out and spend money to fill in the gaps if you want to contend.
