Now they are interviewing Ozzie - sounds like Uncle Jerry is getting involved again.

I found this White Sox offseason summary, thought it was at least worth linking:

Pretty detailed, worth a read.

I agree, but no one wants his contract which he has underperformed every year but once.

I can see in Lynn you've found yet another player on which to negatively obsess. I thought it was quite obvious to just about everyone and their grandmammies that his wretched start to the '22 campaign was due to not being 100% back from his knee surgery. And yes, it took a while, but once he was fully back up to speed he pretty much pitched like his '21 self. Case in point, for the last two+ months of the season his numbers were damn impressive by most (except the obsessed) standards. His last 12 starts he went 7-3 record with a 2.43 ERA. In 10 of those 12 starts he pitched a minimum of 6 innings and went at least 5 innings in the other two. His K/BB rate was 75/9. Now if these were his season beginning numbers and as it wore on he went out with a thud, I'd see your point. But it was the opposite, so I see no point whatsoever in your grouping him with those other washouts.

You owe Lance an apology because I'm sure he's been hurt by your statement.:sorry:

HUGE disappointment.
I’d say we can safely say at this point due to the time that has elapsed and the results for the two Sox teams since that the Red Sox won the Sale trade. Even though he blew his arm out and is paid a shit ton, he won that World Series with them and the White Sox won nada.

I never understood why the Sox extended him when they did and the value they bestowed upon him. They paid for hype and got flat out burned. The way Hahn spent the money he was allocated by ownership is what makes me think he is a straight up trash GM. Moncada, Grandal, Keuchel. Those three contracts on top of trading for James Shields and having a shit record since 2013 as GM all point to Hahn being a clown.

Gonna be honest…I don’t think you can find any, much less “obsession worthy” negativity on this forum about Lynn other than the post you quoted and me basically saying “sucks that dude fell off.” Just sayin’…You’re reaching.

However if he puts out in 2023 what he did in 2022…His time will come, deservedly so.

Years later in the midst of a “long playoff/ws contention run….”

….Grandal is still the largest contract in franchise history. That was a joke when it happened…Now it’s just pathetic.

We had a couple seasons here where a splash might have mattered and we had enough core and reasonable contracts to do so financially. Management put out a great big sh*tburger in response and we get zero accountability. Hahn at the least should be gone.

Clownshow.

I was simply trying to nip it in the bud before you go into full bore obsession. I believe it was already your 2nd post slamming Lynn and this last one where you're lumping him with those others sent a **ding ding ding - Jiddy's about to obsess again** warning chime. I'm trying to pull you from the edge before you get too close. :mod:

Eh...Big differences. I loved Lynn's signing. Even if he sucks next season he'll never be anywhere close to the monumental failures that are Grandal and Moncada. It'll be more about "Why can't we catch a break?" rather than "Really, we're placing our faith in THIS GUY?!"

Grandal and Moncada were eyebrow raisers from the start...Lynn was a slam dunk attempt. I don't think anyone was like "Oh yeah that was a dumb idea" the moment we signed him. It was almost a universal "Good move"...Problem is it was only one of the few good ones for the most part...
