We all know the 700 LBs bench press and chasing down the Saints LB to prevent a pick six but his college stories were apparently even better. Just came across this article.

my favorite: “Like the time Allen, blocking on a run against UC Davis, knocked to the ground and unconscious a defensive tackle, a linebacker and a safety - all on the same play”

I know he was Div II but with everyone knowing all these things about Allen. I still dont understand how he fell to us in the 2nd round.

There was no internet.
Nobody using computers.
Almost all word of mouth. He was lucky to be drafted in the 2nd!
Almost reminds me of the Deacon Jones pre draft story, Rams went to watch film on various running backs and this guy on the other team was over the place making places. Scouting wasn't as advanced, a kid from a small school like Mississippi Valley State wasn't getting a look.

$2M for Daniel in today's QB market still looks like a bargain.

Is Lamar Jackson making a big mistake by turning down the contract offered by the Ravens. Supposedly the 2nd richest deal offered in NFL history, but he wants it 100% guaranteed. Is any team willing to pay him $250 million over 5 years guaranteed if he happens to hit the open market? If you think so, who and why?

Yes, he's making a big mistake.
He is also making a mistake by representing himself.
GM's don't want to sour a player by pointing out his weakness's
NFL is also a "good ole boys" network and they don't like dealing with outsiders. Not an agent? You're an outsider!
