Agree, Doc is the most overrated coach in the NBA but Pierce won MVP and if he doesn't have 41 in G7 vs the Cavs, the Celtics don't even make it to the conference finals let alone beat the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
For real? You're knocking a coach because a great player performed great in a big spot? How is that a knock on the coach? Not saying Doc isn't overrated. Just a weird way of evidencing that.

And if he wasn't running alongside Garnett he may not have even been in those playoffs at all.

I don't buy that at all. Embiid likely knew he wasn't winning anyway. And multiple times during the game basically from the start, he kept touching his face, adjusting his mask, and doing that thing where you stretch your eyes out real wide when you've been shaken up. His injury was clearly bothering him tonight and he was gutting through it best he can. It sounded like he had a severe concussion and while he was "cleared", maybe something triggered him and he was getting dizzy or having trouble with lights ,etc. Point is, he was clearly showing signs of physical discomfort.

As for the rest of the Sixers, they're just soft. They only play well when Embiid is fired up. He wasn't tonight so they didn't bother to up their effort to make up for it.
Harden.

He's a fucking slug.

He has no excuse for his output.

Fuck giving this guy a max deal.

That has nothing to do with Doc. He said KG was why they won a ship, Pierce had a huge part too.

Doc is overrated bc he isn't a good coach. Plain and simple.

Well you said KG won it for him. That is not true. Technically they needed all of that big 3 but KG wasn't the same scorer that year. Pierce had big scoring games. KG made that defense what it was but Pierce was also a pretty underrated defender before father time kicked in. KG had more help in Minny than Pierce ever did in Boston, just sayin.

I feel the Heat have a good chance at winning it all this year. I think too many people are sleeping on them.

Of course they needed the whole team. Garnett won it for him (Doc) by doing both their jobs, playing and coaching. He got that team ready to play far more than Doc did.

Not me. I think the Bucks/Celtics winner takes that series. Miami’s D and Jimmy Butler are elite. That’s good enough to take down a banged up Sixers but not a legit contender in my eyes.

Of course you don't think so, you are a 76ers fan.

Bucks aren't beating the Heat without Middleton. Celtics have a decent chance but their offense looks horrid at times, they struggle to score too much. Both are very susceptible to lose to the heat. Heat's biggest challenge will be Warriors or Heat.

I actually already said earlier in the thread that I don’t think the Sixers/Heat winner could beat the Bucks/Celtics winner. So I included my own team in that.

I like Miami’s chances against both these teams. The Warriors and Suns on the other hand are the ones that truly worry me.

I’m not gonna count out Jimmy Butler but the quality of basketball in these two series are night and day.

Just look at the rosters 1 to 10 and tell me if you would honestly say Milwaukee or Boston have a better roster. Milwaukee with Middleton out there has a much better 1 to 5 though, but without Middleton, they’re not beating Miami IMO.

I’m not impressed with Miami’s roster though.

Jimmy, Herro, Bam, Dipo, and Lowry when healthy can get you buckets…then you have Jimmy, Bam, Dipo, and Tucker for defense, then you also have snipers in Robinson and Stuss. They don’t have many big names, but it’s not a bad squad. They’re deep too.

They’re not a bad squad. I don’t think that’s a championship roster though. I think your squad is actually better without Lowry.

Losing at home game 6 will hurt just as much. Might as well get it over with, yeah?
I’m gonna hold out hope until it’s all done. But yeah, I was saying before the playoffs even started that the Sixers don’t have enough. Incomplete roster. They need a quality off season and personally I want them to value two way players. Sixers have a bunch of guys who are one way players. They’re either good defenders that give no offensive help or guys who can impact at the offensive end but give it right back to their covers at the other end.
