....cause if you didn't (which, ahem, you didn't!!!) then saying how much your D has and hasnt allowed, then comparing that to nebraksa's offense, is an absolutely flawed argument....it would be absolutely retorted to even think that because your D only allowed 1TD against....northern illinois.....you will do the same to nebraska. now, it is completely possible that whiskey will shut down nebraska, but using your previous games in one of the weakest non-con schedules in the country is a horrible point to try and establish your argument

I don't know why you are mocking NIU's offense. They are led by a projected 2nd-3rd round quarterback, and have been putting up huge numbers on everyone else that they played. The same quarterback led them to 40 points against Fresno last year, which is nearly the same amount that you guys scored. I'm not saying that we have faced offenses as good as Nebraska's, but certainly NIU's offense is better than Washington's, Fresno's, and Wyoming's.

Im comfortable with the D that Pelini's will field on Sat. We have not yet had a full game with all our starters in at the 3 levels. That being said, there is no way we are going to shut down the W's offense completely, also the by the same notion they will not shut ours down. OCC's will have little to do with what will be seen by either teams, offense or defense

I don't know why you are mocking NIU's offense. They are led by a projected 2nd-3rd round quarterback, and have been putting up huge numbers on everyone else that they played. The same quarterback led them to 40 points against Fresno last year, which is nearly the same amount that you guys scored. I'm not saying that we have faced offenses as good as Nebraska's, but certainly NIU's offense is better than Washington's, Fresno's, and Wyoming's.

Is this the NIU that lost to Kansas?
You're Wisky team held them to 7, that is good but I hope you're standard is a little higher than that. Kansas did beat them.

Look at what you scored on them also, 49. So did army, and Kansas 45. Hell Cal Poly scored 47.

I am not saying Wisky sucks but you're measurements are skewed. We are not NIU. I guarantee that.

Oh, and while I'm on the subject of defenses that NIU has faced............Army is ranked 100th in total defense, and Cal Poly is an FCS school.

So, to recap..........this unreal NIU offense racked up all those stats against the 120th ranked defense, the 100th ranked defense, and an FCS school.

= Wisconsin's defense #1??

That said, they have one heck of an offense, and I think limiting them to seven is impressive. I know they haven't played any great defenses yet, so only time will tell. The point is that laughing at NIU's offense is sort of silly when they scored 42 or more in their other three games.

Indiana would have 42 points per game against those defenses

Then I went to speak to your offense also that put up the same number of points as Kansas, Army and Cal Poly.

Two different observations, neither really putting you in a good light.

Where did I say this? All that I said is an offense that dominated their other three opponents is not an offensive to laugh at when compared to Washington, Wyoming, and Fresno. I'm still missing how this is even an argument. Washington's offense is the best of the bunch, and they lost a first round pick from a squad that only scored more than 35 once. Meanwhile, Northern Illinois topped that in 4 of their last 5 games, including one against Fresno.

The only way I'm eating crow is if Wisconsin beats us big.........I've stated that Nebraska must play to their full potential in order for us to win.............now I'm just putting my belief in the fact that we will do that.

this is his point...the D in 3 of those games were 2 of the worst Defenses in D-1, and one was an FCS team.....so saying their offense is so good is a bad argument because their numbers are skewed by the horrific defenses they have been playing its not that hard to comprehend

I get your argument, man. I was actually talking about last season. Counting this season, that number is seven out of nine. Have they played weak competition? Sure. Using numbers based on four games is way too small of a sample, though. Honestly, this argument is completely pointless. I know that you all know that NIU's offense is better than any of your opponents.

It really doesn't matter, though. We have a great defense. You have a great offense. On Saturday, we'll find out which is greater. I'm staring at Camp Randall right now and getting excited. It's going to be a blast.

I would take Washington's offense over NIU's offense................in a heart beat.

Washington would score more than 7 points on Wisconsin's D............I promise you that.
