Yes OP, I believe they will get an offer that they can't turn down and Nick deserves a shot somewhere else....

If I remember correctly, it also takes into account playing time and you need to lose more FAs than you sign.

We already have his replacement and won’t give a 3rd string guy equivalent momey

That has nothing to do with what you get back as a compensatory pick

Lol

Foles won’t get 20mil. You’re clueless

You never pay attention and jump the trigger to call someone wrong. He counts as a 20 million hit against the Eagles cap next year if we keep him... which we wont.

Reading is fundamental

Resigning a replacement when you lose a FA cancels the compensatory pick. I’m saying we already have Foles replacement and won’t be signing a QB to a bigger contract like Foles will get so it has everything to do with theEagles compensation for Foles.

Now Handicappers can give the short bus emoji to people who are actually wrong.

I believe its the third one.

They'll likely keep Foles. I think you'd have to see a Super Bowl contender lose its starting QB for a Foles trade to be in play.

No, resigning your own guy does not come into play and even if you signed a FA from another team it wouldn't necessarily cancel it out. But I'm not sure what that has to do with my original comment. Too many discussions going on at once maybe

•I sad the Eagles will likely get a 3rd
•You said other things besides salary come into play like resigning a replacement
•I said we won’t resign anyone because we already have Foles replacement

Does that clear it up?

First off don't use the word resign because that means resigning your own FAs and is irrelevant and is perhaps part of the confusion. the system only takes into account free agents lost vs free agents signed from other teams.
I didn't say sign a replacement as in QB for QB. I said

"If I remember correctly, it also takes into account playing time and you need to lose more FAs than you sign."

You can lose a QB, sign two DBs and be out of luck with comp picks because you lost more players than you got back.

Gotcha... and I didn’t know that last part but we definitely aren’t signing anyone significant being a league high 31,000,000 OVER the cap.
Foles situation is he is an Eagle for 2 more years but has the right to terminate next year and be a FA.
Actually the Eagles found a loop whole in the compensation plan and were able to get an extra 3rd 4th and 5th even though they signed replacements. It had something to do with how the structured the incoming FA contracts and I’m sure the NFL will change the rule to make that illegal but they got over this year.
This is why I keep dreaming someone gives us a first so we have two picks in each of the first 5 rounds. We have to cut a lot of talent and that’s how we can hopefully reload on the cheap.

Trade Foles for a bowl of soup, based on his play last night.....

Didn’t even play a quarter. So funny how 24 hours ago 3/4’s of the Hoop said we had a QB controversy brewing. But he was majorly off last night in limited play.

I’d be a lot more confident if Wentz was cleared and ready. We struggled against teams with good receivers and good passing games. The Giants were really close to sweeping us last year, Atlanta easily could have beat us and Brady threw for over 500 yards.
