That's why I guess we'll have to wait and see what actually comes from this. There are a ton of things about this story that just don't quite make sense.

A ton?

Like what?

Michigan fans be like ...

2007k2-0619-161.jpg
Why would Michigan fans be vultures on Urban Meyer? If he gets fired, he won’t have a job for a long while. It changes nothing at UM.
I sympathize with OSU fans, because this isn’t anything to do with on the field conduct or something relating to his players. Probably why, personally, I’d have no issue if he kept his job.

There is more to this. I feel like there's a lot that still is not public yet on both sides of the fence. There are just too many loose ends and things that make absolutely no sense. Say what you will about Urban, but he's a damn smart guy, way too smart to put himself in this sort of situation over a shitass like Smith.

That’s why it makes no sense. Maybe he didn’t know the full details, I mean he has a football program to run. Why would he lie for a POS wife beater and want to get into this family affair with his crazy alcholic now ex-wife = crazy couple and trouble. We will here soon the full details hopefully.

Like...why would he report this incident to the Florida AD in 2009 and not report this incident? Kind of a headscratcher. What if they said well he wasnt charged so we dont see an issue. The point is, there is a lot we still don’t know even though you just want to point fingers. Did he lie to the media? Yes, but what did he really know, to what extent. None of us know these answers

If they were smart they would suspended him a game or 2 under the self-governance plan, they used the last time around. If you are OSU, you just want to get this out of the new cycle. You don’t want people digging around your program
That would make sense and take some of the focus off the program imo

I do agree I think there is more to this. Like I said a lot of people jumped the gun on the SC Title IX investigation. And broke out the torches. When in the end the court determined SC's findings confirmed they took the proper actions. And the reports Boermeester and Katz didn't want released were indeed spot on.

I'm also not denying Meyers is not intelligent. But history dictates intelligent people can make some poor choices. Overthink certain situations and do dumb things. What really makes no sense to me is why he chose to deny he knew. When he reported the incident at UF. Technically you could say the higher ups at UF knew and ignored it as well if thats the case.

For all we know the OSU higher ups knew. But we do know Urban knew. And with the way the different policies and systems work. And being a part of a program that is in the national spotlight. That target alone will bring the vultures out. Its going to look worse regardless. I understand Smith was a friend through his mentor. But it would have made a lot more sense for Urban to let him go a long time ago. Or at least just say he knew. Otherwise its just making the whole situation look uglier.

At this point it looks like it will most likely come down to what happens in the courts and investigations. Which normally takes quite a while. Boermeesters case wasn't resolved until March of this year

Zach Smith was like a son to the Meyers. His kids would be like grandkids to them. Parents will do a lot of things to protect their children.
I assume they hoped they could get Zach fixed and keep that family together.
Their allegiance was more to Zach than to his wife. I'm sure they knew she'd take him to the cleaners in spousal and child support. Potentially spousal support for the rest of his life.

A ton?

Like what?
1. Why put yourself in a position where it could easily be found out you violated Title IX and you could be fired?
2. Why go through all this for a position coach with a rough history?
3. If this all happened 3 years ago, why is it only just now coming out?
4. In addition to Urban, why would his wife also put herself in position for ramifications from Title IX violation?
5. In Ohio, there's a law that if there's a DV call and officers respond, the husband is ALWAYS arrested and held for 24 hours if the woman has any signs of being beaten, yet he was never arrested once?
6. Why did her parents advise her not to press charges?

All in all, something just doesn't smell right. Urban is far too smart to put himself and his wife in this sort of situation. It makes 0 sense at all.

Why don’t we all take in these facts:

- Courtney called 911 a total 66 times in 90 days and eventually 911 stopped sending responding officers to the home due to lack of credibility.
- In the upcoming precedings between Courtney and Zach, the Powell police are testifying on Zach’s behalf
- Zach and Courtney are both drunks with a history of alcohol related confrontations
- She has been pulled over 3 times for DUI and each time she was pulled over she was escorted home. During all 3 stops she said that Zach was chasing her and in all instances it was verified that Zach was in Ohio St facilities at the time of accusation
- Courtney has shown up to Ohio St practices to fight with Zach
- Courtney shopped her story to various media outlets in exhange for money

I wouldn’t want anything near this couple. I would have fired him just to stay away from this bs

Again....He's more than just a position coach. He's like family. He loses his big money job then victim doesn't get spousal and child support.
