Pretty fucked up that Zach Smith's parents knew, her parents knew, SO many people allegedly knew and did nothing. But since Urban Meyer is the head coach and has it specifically written in his contract to report these things, he is taking the fall for it.

This right here is really upsetting besides the abuse obviously.

I'm grateful everyday that I have a parent ( or anyone for that matter ) that actually cares about me. That can be taken for granted. That's the most valuable thing you can have nowadays.

How about the Woman's own parents. But of course Urban is the bad guy here.

I don't disagree on this, but that is a moral ground. The parents are not bound by the same contractual obligations Meyer is (though it's sad to see how they approached all of this).

Urban had a contractual obligation by way of Title IX, OSU code of Conduct, and his own contract to report any known, or suspected, abuse.

He is in clear violation of all 3 of those from a contractual, University, and NCAA standpoint.

The only way he avoids getting fired (or resigning) is to prove that his wife knew but didn't tell him. Since this is not a court of law matter, the onus will be on him to prove it. I don't think it takes a leap of faith to believe that his wife told him, considering how often he mentions how close they are. The only way that it matters in so much that the University would have to prove Meyer knew would be if he sued to receive the bulk of his contract remaining for termination without cause.

Even then, they may can him/force resign in order to keep even more information coming out implicating higher ups in the University. The hope would be that firing Meyer would placate the masses and allow OSU to move on with little, to no, penalty or issues.

“I told my parents and told his parents as well,” Smith said. "I remember specially texting pictures to my mom, my dad, his dad … like begging for help. This has to stop. I can’t do this anymore. I was told, ‘Don’t call the police. If you call the police, he’s going to get arrested, it’s going to go the media and he’s going to lose his job.”

The very definition of the life of an abuse victim who is powerless to get out. They must weigh the pain of getting out against the pain of staying.

Word.

I asked earlier if it was true that her parents knew, but I got no answer. If I knew one of my daughters' husbands laid hands on one of them, I'd fucking kill them both. Just to be sure.

I wonder if being raised by parents that wouldn't do that type of thing in some ways led to Courtney Smith being the type of woman that enters into and remains in an abusive relationship.

Answer me this and I hope you will be honest. How would you feel if this same situation was happening in Ann Arbor?

Any Ohio State fan would stick their head out for Harbaugh. Why would they be in a faux outrage over a coach that can't beat their team? As long as Harbs is there, Ohio State gets a free win in the last game of the regular season, and against a perceived good opponent as well.

As unhinged as I think Hairball is, as I already said, I wouldnt be looking for blood and wanting the man to lose his job over some crap only based on assumptions and he/said she said.

I have a lot of problems with the #METOO! crap because of all the agenda driven dishonesty that goes on within it. So I'd actually, ugh, "defend" him.

See.

Look, don't get me wrong here. I'm not defending anything he may have done wrong in any way. I'm simply saying it probably doesn't matter what he actually did know at this point because of where we are as a society.

If he knew about continued abuse and did nothing to protect his football program then he deserves every bit of whatever comes.

I just won't be one of the mobs that jumps on and calls for someones head based off a blub on the news without substantiated proof.
Its a rough business no doubt about it. I did some digging last night and discovered that the last HC at Ohio St who was not fired was Wes Fesler in 1950! Everyone since then has been fired

Or maybe she got into that type of relaionship because she saw it growing up and thought it was normal?

I'd for sure be going to jail if that shit happened to my daughter and I found out, but most of these victims hide it from their parents and friends. If she had a husband that made a lot of money in his job and bringing this stuff out to where it got him fired would reduce her own life style and probably also put her more at risk for his physical retribution. That's how so many of them think.

If her parents knew what was going on and they did nothing they should be horse whipped.

Just doubt they did know how bad it was.

Your original non-question didn't have a ?, just pointing it out

Because I wasn't asking him a question. It was rhetorical. Which should have been obvious because I wrote "not a question". And aren't you the one nitpicking here? So is that your photo?
