Anything bad that happens to OSU is good, no matter if Michigan wins or not in November. Seeing a known scumbag go down, is enjoyable. Seeing another OSU coach go down, is enjoyable. The last 60 years of OSU has been tainted in some way and the coach fired at the end of it.

I don't think it's to much of an assumption to think that Urban knew based off of the fact that he and his wife sought counseling for them stemming from the 2009 incident. And he's known Smith since he was a baby.

But maybe he is telling the truth and his wife kept this from him for almost 3 years. We'll find out soon enough I'm sure.

Without expressing any judgement regarding Meyer's culpability here, a small part of me hopes he is relieved of his duties.

It would give UoM fans so much hope that maybe now they could beat tOSU. It's like when they hired that worthless shit, Harbaugh - UoM fans gained so much hope that soon they'd be able to win, and seeing that hope get shit on over and over again for the last three years has been awesome.

If Meyer gets canned, UoM fans are going to be SOOOOOO full of hope. When tOSU kicks that shitbag, has been program around again this November, UoM fans are going to lose their shit. @MAIZEandBLUE09 would probably wish cancer on an entire orphanage of abandoned children.

Part of me believes that last part given what went down in 2009 and the lack of action from his wife in 2015 (whether she told Urban or not, which I'm assuming she did). Urban is in a tough spot given his relationship with not only Smith but Earle Bruce.

I honestly think Meyer was trying to put all of that crap behind him after Smith was fired and didn't appreciate the gravity of his answers at the B1G media day. Kind of like "yeah, I don't know about all that, lets move on"

Had this exact thing happened 15 years ago there's almost no chance Meyer is fired or even a substantial disciplinary action taken.

After the whole #metoo fiasco and how far over the top people have gone with that, and what has already happened in that conference with PSU and MSU there is basically no chance this goes by the wayside. Fired? Lots of speculation in the media, but honestly no one knows outside of the war room in the campus offices.

Should he lose his job? I guess that depends on how forthcoming he is and what his responses are now.

If he is fired it is likely more about the lying than the actual handling (or non handling) of the situation in the first place. The optics were bad and he for sure made some bad decisions bringing a known abuser on his staff, but that was happening all over the country before this sweeping craze to fire anyone that looks the wrong way at a woman anymore.

I don't know that its a tough spot. I get that Bruce was a mentor and family friend. But Bruce also carried his own baggage. He was fired at Colorado St for allegedly abusing players. Second, and I don't mean this to be disrespectful, but the man is dead.

That's probably a bit fast. I would expect before the season, but perhaps a week or two. There's a lot to digest and people to interview and meetings to have etc. You'd want to do it soon enough to allow your kids and staff to prepare.
