If he goes to the Clippers, and he has them performing better than the Lakers, then he's not really in Lebron's shadow.

You have to admit that's a HUGE "if", and not very likely.

Regardless, Clippers are always in the Lakers' shadow, even when they're in the playoffs and the Lakers aren't, at least in terms of world-wide fans.

You sure it's not because you're a complete fucking idiot?
And you're a fucked up BITCH and a Moron if you think Leonard is enough for Leonard to want the Clippers and will make them perform better then the Lakers. THAT isn't going to happen on this planet. latest speculation now is Leonard does t not want either Lakers or the Clippers.

If that's true, that's a sign he's not willing to play for the Spurs and he wants a trade anywhere (then will go where he truly wants as a free agent).

The latest that Lakersnation posted was kind of both - He really is not interested in being a sidekick for LeBron, but he's not excited about being in Los Angeles and on a team that would be dwarfed by the Lakers and LeBron which is the reason so many fans believes the Clippers would do better in San Diego or somewhere else. I would say it's more likely he is a one year rental in Philly or somewhere and then is a free agent next year. For the Lakers to sign him would depend on if Magic Johnson can get an interview with him first. If he doesn't then the Lakers have a shot

First player in NBA history to be traded for himself. This is groundbreaking, historic stuff that TLF is talking about.

If he's going to be in LA, my guess would be that he'd prefer to be Lebron's sidekick for a couple of seasons than play in his and the Lakers shadow. With Lebron on the Lakers, the Clippers will be lucky if people even remember they exist. lol

The Clippers fucked up huge several years back when the city of Anaheim all but begged them to relocate to "The Pond". They wanted to set up a situation with the Angels, Duck and Clippers that was similar to the Dodgers, Kings and Lakers. The Angels, Ducks and Clippers venues were also within walking distance of each other.

But in true Clippers fashion, they chose to stay in LA to fight a battle they'll never win. They were even building a bit of a fanbase in Orange County because they used to play a few games at the Pond every year and tickets always sold well.

Because the Lakers will have a slot open for him.

The Clippers would as well.

Look, I don't know what Kawhi would do, I don't exactly have conversations with the guy. But go off the personality and it's not far-fetched that Kawhi may want to build his own thing up.

Everyone was so confident that George would've just signed with LA next year and you saw how that worked out. Not all people are the same, but is this another risk that the Lakers want to take - hoping a guy comes in free agency when you could trade for him (need the Spurs to buy in of course).

The biggest problem in all of this is that we aren't hearing anything directly from Kawhi.

Everything seems to be some kind of 2nd or 3rd hand information that is attributed to, but not directly from Kawhi or the Spurs. Also, both sides have plenty of reason to lie.

There have been reports that the Sixers offer was better than what it turned out to be and most seemed to think that was being "leaked" by the Spurs to try to make the Lakers panic and give the Spurs everything they were demanding.

Then there were rumors that the Sixers were the only EC team that Kawhi would consider signing with long term.

Then the Raptors were supposedly the favorite to get him and would be willing to take the risk of him being a 1 year rental.

All along there have been underlying reports that the relationship may be salvageable after all.

Now, who the hell knows what's going on? We have all kinds of rumor and speculation, but nothing directly from anyone.

The PG and Kawhi situations are different in that, with PG, we had quotes directly from him and he was never as adamant about getting to the Lakers as Kawhi has been rumored to be and the FA class next year should be much deeper than this one was.

End of the day, while I would love to have Kawhi, with next years FA class being deeper, I'd expect the Lakers should be able to get someone if Kawhi chooses to go someplace else.

Of course the Clips will, they have nothing to surround him with. Lakers have seasoned young players and Lebron (at least).

For now, nobody else seems willing to offer the Spurs what they want. We'll see if that changes (along with Kawhi's preference). If it does, then they'll pursue Klay or Butler, or (god help me) Boogie. Next summer there will lots of choices.

If Boogie shows he's healthy.....I wouldn't mind signing him to a 3 year max deal.....through the end of James contract.

James and Cousins would be an interesting duo.

In my opinion the Clippers needs their own city and venue - the change would do them good. In Anaheim, they could have called themselves the Anaheim Clippers of Los Angeles - San Diego, San Francisco is okay, but I think San Jose would be a great place for a team. I think their best shot was when they had Chris Paul and Blake Griffin and the Nepotism with Austin Rivers got in their way and broke them up. Now they have to completely rebuild. The Clippers may have submitted a legitimate offer but they really do not have much to give up without giving up everything. Magic Johnson isn't even willing to do that - so that tells you that San Antonio is not serious about trading yet. If you're the Lakers - then Ingram and some draft picks is the most I would offer for a one year rental - And in spite of the rumors that He wants to be a Laker - we really won't know the truth until next year. I think you have to consider that if got pissed off at the Spurs organization over nothing - he might do the same in Los Angeles.

We had quotes directly from PG that he told the Pacers he wanted to be traded to the Lakers.

We have heard exactly nothing from Kawhi directly.

Of course, we have seen that even though PG told the Pacers he wanted to be dealt to the Lakers, he signed elsewhere after staying a season in OKC.

Its kinda crazy.

i dont think Ballmer really cares to be honest.

Its not like he owns the Clippers to make money. Its his expensive toy. Shit, if they told him you could make X millions more by moving the franchise to X location- hed probably say NO because its a longer drive time. lol....

he doesnt give 2 flying fucks how much money the Clippers make him. Its his hobby.

The Ballmer owned Clippers need to move to Seattle and I literally can't think of a single reason why they don't. The league should force them to.

exactly.

We had Paul George, actually on record say, "Trade me to LAL".

We have nothing from Kawhi.

and even though Paul George told Indiana "I am not resigning with you, I want you to trade me to LA"- he of course was traded to OKC, and then when given the opportunity to play in his hometown with LeBron, said "no- i am staying in OKC".

I think a team would do really good in San Jose though - I've been up there when I audited some companies. The Clippers came from San Diego before they moved to Los Angeles. I'm not sure about Seattle, but I do think they would be better served in a new location - I agree
