I got 3 Tiers:

Tier 1: Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin
Tier 2: Michigan State, Penn State
Tier 3: The rest

I can't decide who wins out of Tier 1, I did say Wisconsin would go undefeated which could happen. OSU should have every bit the running game of Wisconsin with Dobbins and Weber. But Michigan could have the best defense in the country and a promising QB. Today I'm going with Defense and Maize and Blue. If Michigan can survive the East plus Notre Dame and Wisconsin(regular season) and the CCG with 1 or no losses, they have what it takes to win it all. Defense wins championships as my grandpa taught me.

It will be Michigan. Defense will rival 2011 Alabama. Heard it here first.

Michigan has two major problems. First and foremost is that offensive line is horrendous. One out of every ten passing plays resulted in a sack. Which leads us to the second problem which is depth at quarterback. Patterson is going to take a beating and he already missed half of last season with an injury. Does that mean he’s injury prone or was it just a fluke? Peters was pretty bad last year racking up mediocre stats against the dregs of the conference. McCaffery is a stick figure and likely to get injured unless he bulked up a ton this off season which I doubt. Should Michigan be better than MSU, yes, but Harbaugh has yet to show that he is a big time game day coach. He seems to shrink up when the light shines brightest.
@rjshull what exactly is facepalm about his post?

These 5 teams defy predictions. You can make a case for any of them. That's why I started the thread. It hurts my head to figure out who wins. Now I'm leaning towared Wisc vs OSU CCG and the winner is.... Who the hell knows?

Wisconsin is 1-9 vs Ohio State in the last 10 meetings and is 0-2 in CCG's.

I'll go with Ohio State if they both get there.

Historic blue blood with a supposed offensive guru head coach. There is zero excuse for Michigan to have that bad of an offensive line.

How many more years of struggling until the fans finally give up on harbs?

The offense can be just better than average with a top 3 defense. Maybe their below average IDK. I value defense a little more than offense I guess. They won like 9 games last year with a horrible offense. Harbough just needs to figure out how to win the important rival games.
They beat no one of value

I think it depends which meeeechegan fans you ask. Some will go the 100% homer route & say he deserves all the time he needs because he's Jimmy Jam & had success @ the NFL level. Others will say he needs his players in ann arbor to truly be successful. Even though he doubled the win total his 1st year w/ Hoke's players. One thing for sure. If he goes 0-5 vs. teams that finish the regular season above .500 again it won't look good for him or his program.

There's 6 teams with a shot imo. I'm descending order

6. Iowa
5. Penn St
4. Michigan
3. MSU
2. Ohio St
1. Wisconsin

I dont necessarily think Wisconsin is better than OSU but they've got a far better shot to make the title game. Iowa is really only on the list because they don't play OSU, MSU or Michigan and they get Wisconson, NW and Nebraska all at home .

That is only reasonable. Wisconsin has to beat tOSU at least once before they can be favored.

Final step to Blue-blood status - @Great Dayne

Penn State. In my book, Penn State only has one game that is a toss up and that is the road game at Michigan. Sure, I called Ohio State a toss up but Penn State with home field advantage is tough on the opposition.

2016 Penn State 24 Ohio State 21
2014 Ohio State 31 Penn State 34 OT the year Ohio State won it all

Franklin was not coaching in years prior

Penn State only plays two tough teams on the road, and one of them is pansy Pittsburgh but it is a state rival, so that makes it a tough game.

No back to back road games.
Plays Illinois on Friday, then it has eight days to prep for Ohio State and rest.

Top Newcomer for Penn State will be Micah Parsons, on defense.

Toss Up games
Ohio State lost AT Ohio State 39-38
at Michigan Penn State won 42-13 in 2017 in State College

Tough Games but Penn State Will win games 4-0 three tough games but played at home
at Pittsburgh rivalry games are always fun, Penn State is much better than Pittsburgh
Michigan State will avenge their three point loss at Michigan State
Iowa
Wisconsin Penn State will stop Wisconsin's run game. Penn State weakness is its pass defense.

Automatic Win games 6-0
Appalachian State
Kent State
at illinois
at Indiana OK, Indiana is on the upswing, but Indiana is not on Penn State's level yet 2017 score Penn State 45 Indiana 14
at Rutgers
Maryland

The for sure CCG participant is Wisconsin. the B1G West is an easy six wins for Wisconsin.

Wisconsin sucks against the B1G east though, by that I mean Ohio State and Penn State. Michigan is an all hat, no cattle team.

The last time Wisconsin won in State College is win Joe Paterno was head coach in 2003. Which, BTW, was the ONLY wisconsin win at Penn State.

Lots of teams could do it but I'll pick Michigan. Ohio State and Pen State fall just short.
