What Polanco did the Cards get rid of years ago that is now on the Pirates????
I was wondering the same thing. I thought the Pirates discovered Polanco and signed him first when he was still a teen??? :noidea:

There are some new moron Cards posters on here...fuctards thinking of Placido Polanco???

Minor leagues (2009–2014)[edit]
Polanco competed in showcases, and played as a pitcher due to his being left-handed. He was asked to rotate to the outfield due to a shortage of players, and found that he preferred the position.[1] Polanco signed as an international free agent with the Pirates on April 11, 2009.[2]

In 2009, he played for the Dominican Pirates of the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League. In 2010, he played for the Gulf Coast Pirates of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League (GCL), where he had a .202 batting average. In 2011, he played for the GCL Pirates and the State College Spikes, batting .237. He spent the 2012 season with the West Virginia Power of the Class A South Atlantic League. He enjoyed his best season to date, batting .325 with 16 home runs and 40 stolen bases.[1] He was named the South Atlantic League player of the year, and the Pirates' minor league player of the year.[3]

Prior to the 2013 season, Polanco was ranked as the 65th best prospect in baseball by MLB.com,[4] and as the 51st best prospect in baseball by Baseball America.[5] Polanco began the 2013 season with the Bradenton Marauders of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League. With Bradenton, Polanco batted .312 with 24 stolen bases and 30 runs batted in in 57 games, before receiving a promotion to the Altoona Curve of the Class AA Eastern League.[6] In June 2013, Baseball Prospectus ranked Polanco as the 12th best prospect in baseball.[7] Polanco, along with Dilson Herrera, represented the Pirates at the 2013 All-Star Futures Game.[8] The Pirates promoted Polanco to the Indianapolis Indians of the Class AAA International League at the end of the season. He received nine at-bats with Indianapolis.[9] On March 14, 2014, the Pirates optioned Polanco to Indianapolis.[1]

Losing two out of three at home to the Royals is not good!

I swear, if we Cardinals have to put up with another year with Matheny and Mabry, I might become Marlins fan.

I gave you a 'funny' for your post even though the truth you speak is sad. If we have to abandon ship can't we find a better team to cheer for than the Marlins?

Silly, Your Buccos lost this afternoon in Cincinnati but they should get back on their winning ways with the Cardinals coming into Pittsburgh to play a weekend series against a Pirates team they can't seem to beat.

we had a bad 1 inning. otherwise we could have won today. How about that rookie outfielder hitting his 3rd home run already?

The Cardinals mighty offense did something last night that hadn't been since 2008. They allowed Musgrove to pitch 7 inning with fewer than 70 pitches. The last pitcher to do that was Greg Maddux. So the STL offense just morphed Musgrove into Maddux.

Thanks Mo, Matheny, and Mabry.

Mo gets the players, Matheny leads them, and Mabry killers every hitter's approach. Matheny keeps putting Wong and Fowler in the line up at the same time. Carpenter finally has a 3-4 game streak, but he once again taking strikes down the middle, then arguing with the ump on a called 3rd strike. STL brout up the AAA batting coach last year and the offense improved, maybe they need to promote him, but that won't happen since Mabry is a Matheny buddy.

A five year regression under the 3 amigos. Going after Ozuna after his one break out season was brilliant. Keep letting Holland take the mound is fantastic.

Another reason that Matheny is an idiotic jerk wad......

Today's line up.....

1. Matt Carpenter (L) - 3B
2. Jose Martinez (R) - 1B
3. Tommy Pham (R) - CF
4. Marcell Ozuna (R) - LF
5. Jedd Gyorko (R) - 2B
6. Dexter Fowler (S) - RF
7. Francisco Pena (R) - C
8. Yairo Munoz (R) - SS
9. Jack Flaherty (R) - P

Why is Carp at 3B and Gyorko at 2B? Carpenter's arm is better suited at second.

Well at least we don't have Fowler and Wong in the line up at the same time today and hopefully that will help.
