So it basically comes down to the if the actors want to stick around

Yeah he was the best character in my opinion(of everyone first 3 seasons).

He was also clearly designed as the show lead. Pretty much everything ran through him.

Unfortunately the actor wanted out. I don’t think it was fully to do other stuff, I think the show runner change also played a part

My biggest gripe is how it went down. Not just being killed by that fucking kid, but the fact the first couple episodes implied a bunch of the story of what happened between S3 and now revolving around Nick.
