thats the room I always stay in when in town

I was shit faced and don't remember the room number, plus it was years ago. Is there skeet on the walls? A gag ball under the mattress?

Made it out on the ice for about 6 hours on Saturday. Got checked by a Park Ranger for the first time EVER. I had always thought they were a myth but turns out the really do exist.

I took a buddy ice fishing on Saturday. He's got a lot of medical issues and it was a lot of work. But I lucked out and sat him right on top of the fish with the first hole I drilled.

We stayed out a couple of hours and had a good time. The wind made it interesting setting up and taking down the hub house.

For being in the 40's it sure didn't feel that warm. Wind blew our hut across the ice and spilled all our minnows. Luckily didn't spill any beverages though

Lol, at least you saved the important stuff.

I had my buddy sit in a chair and hold the rope as we drilled the anchors into the ice and tied the tent down. Then we had to anchor down the sled so it wouldn't blow away.

There was still 10-12 inches of good ice where we were. This has been one of the better ice seasons I can remember in a while

I was surprised to find only 8 inches of hard, clear ice where there was 13 inches two weeks ago. I expect another couple more weeks of fishing, at least, with the extended forecasts I'm seeing. It's been a long time since the season has gone so long this far south. I think 2005 I was fishing into March. I hope it goes that long this year.

My peeps up in the Iowa Great Lakes area are getting to the point where they will be needing auger extensions. 22-24 inches up there. Another week of sub freezing temps will put it over the reach of standard auger blades.

Only been checked in Nebraska a couple of times in my life. I get checked in South Dakota (either on the water or at the dock) damn near every time I'm up there.
Last year they were pulling over boats on the Hwy to check that live wells were emptied. They have a new law that live wells be pumped out at the dock.

I have no problem getting checked (as long as I'm not doing anything illegal). Getting checked helps justify the money I pay for my licenses every year.

Have you been out on standing bear lately? How thick is thee ice?

Haven't been there at all since December and that was just to check the ice thickness.

Been fishing a farm pond in Iowa and some reservoirs in Sarpy.
My boy got a 3 lb cat on a wax worm a couple weeks ago. First time I've seen that happen. A friend was out on Wanahoo last Saturday and the got a couple decent northerns and some keeper walleye.
I don't know how thick the ice is atm. I can check tomorrow though. The auger is in the back of my truck.

I’m convinced I could wrap a turd around a hook and a catfish will eat it. They eat anything. Bottom feeders.

I was at Wanahoo last weekend and had 10-12 inches everywhere I went. Doubt the weather since then has change that much

With the temps being what they’ve been the past 3 days I wouldn’t doubt if 4-5 more inches have added on.

It’s been damn cold.

It's turning into a glorious ice season.

I think I'll probably go out both days this weekend. Any of you fellas want to tag along just say so.

This is exactly how you blow a big lead on the road.

Glynn comes down and takes a HORRIBLE shot early in the shot clock and gives Minnesota 25 seconds to do whatever they want going into the half.

For fuck’s sake that drives me crazy.

I’m not comfortable at all heading into the 2nd half.

Momentum shifted completely the other way.

Mason is LIGHTS OUT.
