Tony Gonzalez missed one game in 16 seasons, and has 10,000 more receiving yards than Gronk

Youre drunk, trolling, or both

Just under 8,200 yards more, but Gonzalez has played in 171 more games so it would stand to reason that he has accumulated more of every stat. He was a fantastic TE, but the next time you see him pancake an O-lineman will be the first time. Our big galoot does it on a regular basis.

Some of the stats stand out when you look at the two careers.

Gonzalez 11.3 yds per catch and 56 yds per game. 270 games played, 111 career TDs

Gronk 15.1 yds per catch and 70.1 yds per game. 99 games played, 75 TDs

Tony is right.

From production and efficiency, Gronkowksi is maybe the best tight end in the history of the game and if he plays long enough he'll break Gonzalez's records.

However, he shouldn't play long enough. He's already dumb enough as is and the further cte won't help him into retirement, along with all the other injuries. He'll have at least a couple of rings already. I'd not risk it, although he's so stupid you really never know what he'll do.

Kelce has stayed healthy this season and has been the only reliable part of the chiefs offense that hasn't completely gone into the shitter. He's a fantastic tight end and the eye test shows he's a better blocker than Gronk imo. However, he's also totally out of his mind and every so often will do something obnoxious or stupid. Not sure when the tight end position started accumulating all these meatheads but it does ad some entertainment value i guess....

Who is playing better THIS season? Hell, probably Kelce. I even voted for him, since i assume this season is what matters and he's the only consistent and excellent part of a badly sinking ship. But if you ask "who's the greatest tight end of all time" you have to consider gronk at some point and Kelce of course is not mentioned.

Gronk would be fine if he could fall like Kelce.

Instead he falls like a bag of bricks.

While not feather like, Kelce at least has a bit of grace as he goes down.

Kelce... Imagine how good he'd be in Brady was throwing to him in that offense... He'd have better stats, imo...

Kelce is a ginormous WR, but he coldn't block my late great mother. He is a damn good receiver though, I'll give him that.

At least Graham wasn't on the list......
I know. I'm not saying he is the best, but is worth a mention. Pretty quiet here regarding JG. I think he leads the league in TD's for TE's but what is impressive is his results in coming back and excelling after the injury he had.

No doubt when Gronk plays, he is one of the best any of us have ever seen

Much like when Bo Jackson played, he was one of the best we have ever seen

But at some point we cant just "project" numbers and claim Player A was better than Player B, when Player B will absolutely demolish Player A in every statistic we have ever considered important in the NFL
