Miami also got the last Sunday Night primetime game....

Suh has to be one of the worst deals out there, I dont know if its just me, but the only time I see him highlighted is when he is committing a terrible penalty

No, it's not just you. DT is one of those positions imo that's far overvalued in the NFL.

What makes this so apparent...Suh is actually playing pretty well when you watch his tape.

I can see why LAR have dragged this out with Aaron Donald who I think it the best at the position (I know the Rams went to a 34 with Phillips)...when you pay an interior DL $100 mil dollars it just wrecks the cap.

Starting with Haynesworth...that type of money spent on an interior DL typically ends badly.

The problem with the Giants is that they have zero vocal leaders (as far as I know) that would get in his face and call him out. He was a glaring example of a guy now just collecting a cheque, and nobody holds him accountable. It's why OBJ gets away with a lot of the stuff he does - nobody pulls him aside and kicks his ass - and now he's past the point of control.

I get your point...Ideally you want that vet guy (an impact player) that players respect to step up and be that voice of reason in situations like that....if it bubbles up to the HC level that should squash it....but when your HC is a relative unknown with a title...the locker room can get loose.

Great catch from the West Coast, cause thats exactly a big part of the problem....Eli has always been a leader by example, so asking him to become that vocal guy at this stage is useless.......OBJ is much like T.O. and why TO was let go by so many teams although everyone was aware of his greatness....His other shit just becomes too much to overcome what he is on the field, and no one in the organization has been able to reign him in, it mostly cost Coughlin his job in the opinion of many around here

Agreed, Snacks Harrison is considered one of the best run stoppers in the NFL, but in this passing league, its nice to have, but at what cost against the Cap?

Guys like Harrison are critical in the passing game as well. You don't expect them to get the sack because the QB is looking right at them and usually much quicker and can evade them. But teams that can get a good interior push are teams that dominate passing teams. The QB winds up being uncomfortable the entire game and usually throws a few off the back foot into trouble.

But you still need the edge rush to be truly dominant. If your edge rush is not getting the job done, then QBs will just escape, ESPECIALLY guys like Rodgers or Wilson.

You can always neutralize an interior DL...even a strong pass rushing DT...your actions to neutralize him may cause other players to make plays, but the good teams are not going to let a Suh, Atkins, or Donald to beat them. It's hard to invest $100 mil in one player on DEF regardless of position...but when you do, you must have good contribution from some players on rookie contracts on OFC and or DEF.

Speaking of, how has Richardson worked out so far?

(Sheldon), I havent followed that closely but kearse is starting to show the jets why Seattle let him go, dropping everything recently

The Giants are like 24-33 since drafting OBJ....I mean, they aren't winning with him and I know he has amazing talent, but at what cost are the Giants going to pay to watch his antics? Now add in a pretty bad injury to his legs which are a HUGE part of his game.....Not sure locking him up long term is the best route to go.....Do the Giants have the balls to say "we've seen enough"

I think guys like Harrison are important...if they are 3 down players even more so...the push back is how much you can really afford to pay this player.

He's been banged up a bit. Hasn't been dominant certainly. But good when healthy. Seahawks interior line has been pretty solid. Edge rush has been rough.

Elite WRs rarely win Super Bowls.

Beginning of the season, id say no chance they let him walk, now Ive completely flipflopped on it and this disaster of a season may make them cut ties with all the poisons in the lockeroom

Man, as much as people bag on the AFC, how different is the AFC if Tannehill and Watson are starting instead of savage and cutler?

Right, because Ryan tannehill has been a winner in this league for no long now..

Last playoff win:
Bills 1995
Dolphins 2000
Jets 2011
Only 45 years combined, not bad.....

Now you know why

Because Brady keeps them out? It's hard to get to the playoffs if another team has their foot on your neck for 16 years.

A) QBwinz mean nothing to me at all

B) Mediocrity is significantly better than outright terrible.

Tannehill wouldn't help the dolphins all that much. Maybe they have one more win than they do now? Their team culture is still trash, and tannehill is barely above average. Try again

Any truth to the rumors that the 9ers aren't playing Jimmy because they are afraid his awesomeness will screw up their chances for a top draft pick?

Ha! That's so wrong. The last Jets playoff win came in the 2010 season.

Oh damn that helps your point.

So you think more of Tannehill than I do? Cool. Going from 28th in oDVOA to even 14th from last year is still a huge jump.

Guess what- the Jags culture is trash too and theyre 6-3.

I’d say they pick up wins against the Raiders and Jets and finish out the year 10-6 with tannehill considering the schedule. Average team, favorable schedule.
