that was to tie the game. The gift was the failed challenge to go back to 5 on 3. That is not on the refs.
I must say i wouldn't have challenged knowing the new rule of a penalty to be added if you lose a challenge. Not 100% sure he knew about the rule change.

I think the Nhl management is a little too concerned with trying to increase goal scoring and less concerned with actually calling the game fairly. That's the main point here in the grand scheme of things.

Most of us longtime, loyal fans probably could care less how many goals are being scored, myself included. We just want the refs to be invisible, not be the story of the whole fucking game.

We were in control of that game, ahead 5-4 with only 2:42 left and then all hell broke loose for no reason at all. Weise gets dumped by two defenders in the offensive zone while chasing a puck and they call a phantom penalty on him.
If they really wanted the goal scoring to be up why dont the just make the net bigger an inch on each side and that will make all of the pucks that hit the post go in and scoring will be up.

Morin sent down, pretty much as expected based on the first few games.

Meltzer on twitter preaching that Morin only plays the left side and with Provorov and Ghost locked in to two of those, the competition was Sanheim or Morin for the 3rd pair LD spot. Sanheim won it. AMac, Hagg, and Gudas not really part of the competition since they play the right side.

Still though, Sanheim and Morin played together a good bit last year, so Sanheim must have played some RD. I guess they want to keep Sanheim on his natural side for now so there's one less obstacle for a rookie learning the NHL ropes.

If/when the young guys completely take over, assuming they all pan out it might have to look something like this:

Provorov-Hagg
Morin-Sanheim
Ghost-Gudas

They probably will do that and I don't even think it needs to be that much of an increase.

It's all good to attempt getting rid of slashing too, but sometimes we're calling a one-handed tap that misses and not calling a thunderous crosscheck from behind. That's a little fucked up, to me...Lol

The refs need to keep things in perspective here. Did the play really prevent a scoring chance, injure a player or seriously affect the flow of the game? If not even close, maybe swallow the whistle.

I hope so. I'd expect it wont take much to get the troops fired up for that one.

Even though they lost the first time around, they played damn good against the Western Conference champs.....
That speaks big on their part. Mistakes all around essentially cost us the game, which is to be expected even with all the young kids. They start cleaning that up and NHL, watch your asses.

Our home opener well tells us tons about these boys.....should be a Hell of a game!!!!

Its not like Nashville did anything to stir up our team the refs did but im sure the team will be looking to rectify the refs mistakes from last game.

It's a fucking eternity to wait still after that last game. Why couldn't we have had another game a couple days later? Instead, that bad taste has to linger with us for four whole days.

I read an article where Morin said he is happy to be back with the Phantoms.......

He said he was pissed because he had been a healthy scratch for the first 4 games, but he understands. He went on to say he will wait for his shot on the Flyers, he was just happy to be playing somewhere.

You gotta feel for the kid..... they didn't have a slot for him, so they sat him. Had to be tough on the kid.
