On the flip side, every Husker fan would probably give up their left nut for Husker football to be like Okie light's program in today's era.....
That is ridiculous. It's amazing the crap that comes out of a Longhorn fans brain.

That's spectacular. A Texas fan using Okie lite's record and program to try to insult another program. It's like watching 2 monkeys try to fuck a football.

2017 - (1-2)

Oh, there is no doubt we have sucked ass since '10. But we'll be back. Not sure when, but it's guaranteed we'll win conference titles and NC's again. You tards are done......FOREVER. Only 1 conference title since '99 and that is with your program playing in the 2 worst divisions in NCAA history and you can only muster 1 fucking conference title in almost 20 years. You might win a conference title every 25-30 years from here on out, and that only depends if tOSU, UM, and Wiscy are given sanctions by the NCAA that shuts down their programs for a decade (similar to what made NU relevant in the 90's when the NCAA shut down OU's program and Osborne's daddy resigned). Say bye bye to nattys; those will never happen again. No coach in the country can win in Lincoln ever again and by winning, I mean compete for conference titles and nattys. No more major bowl games; you might sneak one in every 25-30 years and that is being generous. The sooner you dicks can accept the fact you are Minnesota 2.0 today (I used to think NU was Iowa 2.0, but that is insulting to Iowa) the better.

All is not lost Corn boys, at least your program is a higher paid slut now. After the Big 12 ran a train on your has been program, you fled to be a higher paid ho and it worked. LOL, congrats!

LOL, I'm pretty sure Princeton and Minny fans had a difficult time accepting reality way back when.

I was screwing around with them earlier. But being completely honest I wouldn't trade positions with them. Nebraska is the Ottoman Empire of college football. They were great in the past but not any more.

Schools like USC or Alabam or even Texas all have one thing in common. They are able to pull elite talent locally. Last year was the first time since 2011 they had a top 25 class. In 2011, guess which state their top recruits came from. I'll give you a hint-its where they used to play every season but don't now. So they have to recruit rationally, which works some because they are still Nebraska. But without close ties to your breadbasket you gotta win or you start to lose out on some of those battles. Plus without that connection to high school coaches you don't find the diamond in the rough type kids that you take a flyer on when someone you wanted went elsewhere late.

If they had a unique intangible going for them it would be different. The coastal and southern schools can pull kids out of the Midwest because winter's don't suck. Notre Dame has a religious element that for certain recruits other schools can't overcome. Alot of Nebraska's big draws from decades ago no longer apply. Everyone at the P5 level is on T.V., has facilities that are obscenely lavish, and can put kids in the league. Schematically they aren't doing anything that would attract a different caliber of athlete. They have their history and that isn't enough.

Recruits today were in diapers the last time they played for a championship. We see Scott Frost as an option because we saw him play for them. They weren't alive when we was there.

If they screw up the next hire, that will make 5 head coaches who haven't come close to what Osborne did. At some point you have to figure they aren't coming back.

I was talking 2001. 2018 recruits were born around 2000.

Ok they probably remember the last time you played for a conference championship. How did you guys do in that game?

Don't know. We haven't had a conference championship game since we've been good.

Bedlam has been the defacto one for a while now. Not alot of fun lately but we'll see this year

I see you are trying to go back to the past again. That's just the thing, the past is the past.

In the present who is more likely to play in one this year?

That speaks so much of your knowledge there sparky. I was in the stadium the day Barry Sanders ran for 189 yards against Nebraska, but Kenny Clarke ran for 256 yards against the Cowboys. You really don't know Jack____, but that's okay we see where your coming from. During the good times and the bad, we are fans. Outsiders like taking their shots but they fail to see that the Husker fans really had nothing to do with all the stupid hires of the past and we continue to follow our team whether or not anyone outside our fan base likes it.

It's hard to convince recruits from Texas and California to go to Nebraska lately but it could change with the new recruiting rules next year.

What's your point? Are you calling me a fair weather fan?

I haven't hidden this but I grew up in a squat household. I converted to the good guys when I went to college. I was 8 during Barry's season. My first memories of the Pokes were Gundy, Thomas, and Dykes.

But if I'm being completely honest the one game from my childhood that I remember really sitting down and watching-screaming at the tv, crying when the other team stuck first, the field goal late to ice it-the final score was 17-7.

If you are going to talk history and be condescending to me about my fandom step the fuck off. I find t-shirt fans annoying. I don't know if you are an alumni or just a fan, but for the Nebraska people the way your fanbase is I don't think it matters. But if you are just someone whose lifelong love of Nebraska football is due to you being born in York and never making it out of town then sit down and shut up. 20 years ago this fall I stepped foot onto Stillwater and I spent 4 years watching us suck. I rushed the field as a freshman when our shitty team best a more shitty squat team. My first away game was at Arrowhead. You may have been there as well-your crowd was amazing that night. I saw Colorado pull off a 33 yard 2 point conversion on homecoming no less. I saw no bowl games for us during my time there though.

Right after I graduated we had some success against the squats and went to a couple of bowl games. During the Gundy era a lotta wins but little success against ou. During this run I get my hopes up only to go home for Christmas and eat shit with my family because their team beat mine again. And it could very well happen again this year. My prediction is we win Bedlam but lose the CCG because that would hurt. But I'll gladly take it because of my love for my alma mater.

Don't ever call me a fair weather fan again.
