Cooks really sucks

That's why I really didn't care when we traded him. Where we screwed up is by not getting Butler back in return. We could have had Lattimore & Butler as our starting Corners. The front office screwed up big time

Dumb argument. Altuve has been better for the full season just like Sale has been better than Severino.

1st in OPS
1st in OBP
1st in walks
1st in HRs

Some other stuff too

@DirtDirtDirt this is the yanks last chance to catch the Sox IMO.

The O's own Boston as of lately. Yanks need to win 2 of 3 and hopefully the sox drop 2 of 3 or get swept. If we enter the weekend still down 3 games with the Sox in Cincy & the Yanks in Toronto then the race is done

Yup

With Gronk gone or just a decoy now, NE could struggle

It's over IMO

Credit to the Sox for doing what they need to do

Friday night was as tough to take as any Yankees loss this season

The Sox win i mean

32 point difference in OPS and 4 point difference in OBP. While playing in a more hitter friendly environment, a less valuable position, and not being nearly the threat on the base paths that Altuve is. Come on Dirt, homerism isn't your thing

A .280 batting average, 200 strikeouts, and the guy is a MVP candidate? Man, baseball has fallen a long way.

It absolutely should be. Award is for the whole season.
sale is:

1st in IP
hard to find anyone allowing fewer hits/9
1st in k's
4th in WHIP
7th in ERA
6th in WAR
16 wins (tons with 16 and 17)
6th in QS%
ERA+158

what gets me is BaBip...

sale for the season is .301 (.340 for the past month!)
by comparison kluber has a .255 BaBip

He's absolutely a candidate and should be top 5, but Altuve has clearly been more valuable

Yeah that annoyed me. I'm here on the train home and see the Sox down 5-2 in the 9th so I'm already thinking the Yanks were about to pick up a game. Boy was I wrong.

He's 7th in H/9 if this is all of baseball.

The BABIP is why fangraphs advanced numbers like him. I still would take Kluber, but Sale has clearly been better than Severino

Yeah, he is a candidate, which just another example of how shitty the current era of baseball is. Finesse is going out the window and being replaced with power. The thing about baseball that made it a thinking man's game was the strategy. But there isn't much strategy in an all or nothing approach at the plate.

We must be getting close to fall because Dirt is doing his annual <insert Yankee pitcher here> for Cy Young.

Last year it was Tanaka, now it's Severino.

Well then you should root for the Red Sox, as they are still 6th in the AL in runs and yet they hit the fewest HRs in the league while being one of the toughest teams to strikeout

that BaBip is fucked up, been over .300 all year...but i guess for him its normal.

last year sales BaBip was .282
year before it was .324

fluctuates a lot for him

So he's behind Judge but is a better base stealer

By the way
Houston is very friendly to RHH
