The Giants were outmatched last night. It is obvious there offense is OBJ. Without him the offense is bad.

I think defensively they were good. They just wore down. You can't play the Cowboys and expect to win if your offense does not help the defense.

Exactly right, all of it

I dont know what youre watching.......Seattles defense played spectacular? They gave up 17 second half points, they gave Rodgers the ball with 7 minutes to go, needing a stop to give them a prayer, and Rodgers never let them see the ball again

Sorry man, not sure what youre seeing

As far as Odell, his importance cant be overstated

Do you know that the Giants were 3rd to last in the league in Time of possession last season, behind only Cleveland and San Fran?

Do you know that Eli's QB rating throwing to Odell is 111.79 and his QB rating to everyone else is 79.0?

Those 2 facts speak against the 2 statements you are making

Those facts say the ONLY reason the Giants were in the postseason last year was Because of the defense and Odell Beckham

Seattle's defense basically gave up 10 points. You are really counting when Russell Wilson fumbled at the goal line that set up an easy TD? Also, the other TD was on a gimmick play catching them with 12 men on the field. Yes, Seattle played spectacular defensively considering who they were facing.

And my point still stands. The Giants can be exploited. Eli Apple in particular. Cowboys went after Eli Apple: Team-high 12 targets (next highest was 7) - 10 catches, 137.2 passer rating when targeted, 123 yards and TD.

The Giants defense can be exploited. Their LB core aside from BJ Goodson has weaknesses as well. Snacks is just a two down player. JPP isn't as good as he used to be. DRC looked a step slow last night. There aren't as many weaknesses on teams like the Seahawks and Broncos.

As i said, no worse than 3rd worse in the league....Im perfectly fine with Seattle and Denver being better

But any defense in the top 5 is something i would consider "SB Caliber"

I was looking at Jerry Jones' grandson last night, thinking, this kid is king of the world

Every parent in his high school is telling their daughters, "Yeah, make sure you give your vagina to him"

If I'm a Giants fan I'm irate at the front office. Oline was their biggest weakness last year and they did nothing to address it.

Compounded by the fact their first pick was a TE that, while appearing to be an offensive threat as he learns the NFL, can't block.

Jason Wittens are pretty rare these days. You are usually just drafting an elite athletic TE that can't block if they are a top 3 round talent.

Agree, but to know they had all those issues on the OL and to not address it in any way is insane. If they got a TE that can block on running plays that is at least better.

In Reeces' defense (just a little), there was no first round talent on the Oline this season, and the only FA worth a shit was Whitworth who got $12 mill at 36 years old.....However, when you have a team that is pretty good outside of the Oline, maybe you need to take the bullet and signs the best guy out there even at that price

That was indeed a headscratcher considering their OLine issues

WRs don't make an offense or a team any better, the QB makes WRs.

Tom Brady has dominated with a bunch of no name targets. Aaron Rodgers has done much the same. When you have a QB that's got a strong arm and accurate, with precise placement, you make WRs, not the other way around.

That doesn't mean WRs aren't talented......but OBJ would be even better than he is if he had a better QB throwing him the ball. Eli is gobbage

Put me in the camp of NO, the Giants do not have a SB caliber defense. They have a very GOOD defense.......but they aren't really shutting anyone down.

Now, that may change over the course of the season as they gel and play more together.......but what I saw yesterday was not SB caliber.

Great players make their teams better regardless of the position. Yeah QB has the most impact of course, but any skill position for sure and most positions if the guy is good enough, could impact a teams outcome in a game or season...Except for this week. Giants were getting bitch slapped with or without OBJ:heh:

I'm just going to say this. Elite QBs will kill you no matter WHO is at WR. This has been proven repeatedly throughout football history.

If the Giants had a fully healthy WR core, but say, Jeff George, at QB, the results will be the same for this game. Line up HOF WRs with a crap QB and you get the same results - pretty much nothing.

Add to that no running game for the Giants and well......not looking good

I think the term "super bowl caliber" is kind of stupid and cliche'. It's a team game. Is Dilfer a super bowl caliber QB? If any team is good enough on one side of the ball the other side gets ring too. Doesn't matter if you win 3-0 or 75-74. It all counts the same

They held one of the better offenses in the league to one TD in their home opener

Not sure what a SB caliber defense is, if what most view as no worse than the 3rd best defense in the league, isnt one

ANd yes, great WR's do make a team better, ill act like you didnt make such a ridiculous comment
