Yeah unfortunately they have so many stinking weapons it isn't even fair. The area I could see a big blow to though is special teams. Having to put Cyrus Jones out on punt return has to be one of the scariest decisions Belichick has to make on a week to week basis.
Very true but Belichick always seems to push the right buttons.

The one downside to Belichick that I do see happen every once in a while is that he almost outthinks himself or over thinks however you want to word it. I keep thinking of that Philly game a couple of years ago where they just had some fluky weird decisions made that had most people scratching their heads. So hoping that happens to be the game against the Broncos this year.

I don't see the Donkeys beating the Cheatriots with either of the QB's they have....Their D isn't what it was 2 yrs ago so they'll have to lean on outscoring Josh's O, that can't be good !!!!

Non-contact knee injury? Yeah sounds like an ACL.

Well, when Brady goes down they'll have a better chance because Garropo doesn't know the cheat book as well...

This is the beginning of the end

Haha

I think this is Brady's way of showing he doesn't need him to win. (See Gronk last year).

In all seriousness, anybody who says the patriots have a better roster this year than last year doesn't understand football. They will miss Bennett, Blount, Ryan, Long and Nicovich.

Preseason sucks. Seems like non-contact knees are particularly ominous. Same thing happened to Kelvin Benjamin 2 years ago.

I would say they are weaker at some positions and stronger at others. WR to me has gotten stronger depending on the injury to Edelman. TE on the other hand has gotten weaker by losing Bennett but depending on if Gronk can stay healthy kind of negates the loss. Secondary it will be interesting to see what Gilmore truly is. I think he can be an upgrade over Ryan. Although I will say Ryan was a great player against the bigger/physical WR's in the league. Still I do think the secondary looks much stronger this year with what they have added. Where it could get interesting for the Pats is the DL. They have definitely lost some depth to injury, FA, and retirement. That pass rush isn't looking that strong right now. So could that weakness come back to bite them not being able to get to the QB? Just have to see.

One final area that I think could be underrated for the Pats this year as a big step up is the run game. Lewis back fully healthy and adding a very promising player in Gillislee could go a long way into making that offense about unstoppable.

He was grabbing the back of his leg. Could be a Meniscus instead of a ligament.

Same with Jordy Nelson.

Beat me too it.

The entire NFL season is a war of attrition. Time to expand the rosters and add to the cap. Often times the teams that are healthiest make it to the SB not necessarily the best teams. As a fan, I was sick watching Derek Carr go down late in the season. They were poised to challenge for AFC championship till that injury. While franchise QBs are tough to replace just expanding the practice squads and designating a spot for a QB will help develop those players to replace the ones that are aging. As it stands now, roster spots are at such a premium it's tough to justify developmental QBs

The WR position is getting a little thin.
