What things have you stated and then had to stand by that aren't entirely accurate, but you felt you had to stick to your guns because of the climate on the board from hell?

I'll start:

1) I think Alfredsson is an immense talent, and an asset to the Sens. I stand by my statement about him being a terrible captain.

2) I kinda like the Penguins and think that Crosby is one of the most physically gifted players to come along in a long time. I stand by my feeling that OV is more talented and has more guts, and that Malkin is just as talented as Sid.

3) Chris Drury does not look like that kid from "Mask". He looks more like Pee-Wee from Porky's.

I've often said that I hate to see any guy get hurt, and for the most part it's true. However, that doesn't apply to Matt Cooke and Steve Ott.

Not a confession, but last night's no-goal decision by the war room was a direct result of Alex Burrows calling out Stephen Auger earlier in the season and the continued embellishment by Burrows and Kesler to try to draw penalties from the officials. These refs have long memories and last night they decided to exact some revenge on the Canuckleheads.

Also,

Trollerblades mows my lawn. He doesn't know that I am who I am, but his picture gives it away. I now do not clean up after my dog on purpose.
This is too good to be true. Is it?

No, but I couldn't resist after your post.

I do know where that deck hockey rink is though and it is near me. I kind of want to find my old rollerblades and go down there sometime and see if I can find him, but life is far to busy these days.

It is the South Park rink, I am almost certain.

Iggy will not win a Cup with the Flames (oh so close in 2004) and should be moved to a) get a chance to win with a contender and b) get a good return to make up for the bonehead moves Sutter has made over the past 12 months.

Theo will be fine in the playoffs. No way will Bruce have him on a short leash this year. Last year is a distant memory.

I want to see Jonathan Bernier in a Flyers uniform. And although it might not be a popular idea in Flyerland, I'd be okay with Giroux being the return.

I saw Bernier play a few weeks ago in person and he looked NHL ready, although I must confess I was having a much better time watching Lou get shelled and given the hook - the Kings will be able to get a ransom for either him or Quick if they go that route.

1. At some point I stated that I hated Crosby and thought he was overrated. In reality I think he's the best player in the world by a mile.

2. I like any other Sens fan have called Heatley selfish and only in it for himself but I don't have any conclusive evidence to suggest that's really true. Maybe he had a good reason to leave, we'll never know but naturally hating on Heatley seemed like the right thing to do. :)

3. Alfredsson shooting the puck at Niedermayer. I just can't get myself to admit that he really did it but the more I have seen it the more it looks like he definitely did it. The bottom line is that the Ducks thought he did it and he probably cost his team a chance at the Stanley Cup because of that. Up until that point the Sens were starting to make the series interesting.

what about Corey Fairy?

Maybe it's the Olympic appearance and scoring a big goal in the gold medal game against the States, but I've changed my stance a little regarding Perry. I still don't like him, but he doesn't go out of his way to intentionally injure players like Cooke and Ott do.

Whoa, whoa, whoa there Urk.

That happened in Game 4, right? The Ducks already held a 2-1 series lead. The Ducks pretty much dominated game 1 and 2, despite the low scoring nature of both games. That game was tied 2-2 when Alfredsson made that boneheaded play.

He definitely shot the puck directly at Niedermayer. Karma's a bitch and maybe that's why an Ottawa team with Alfredsson is cursed.

But regardless, the Ducks were taking it to the Sens in that series and would have won the game and the series regardless of the play.
