We played Minnesota today, they are ranked 14th. With about 12 minutes left the entire Alabama bench was ejected from the game for coming onto the playing court following a confrontation on the court. Alabama was left playing with 5 players for the whole game. And not long after that, Dazon Ingram fouled out and then John Petty left after injuring his ankle.
Alabama played the final 10:30 with 3 players, trailing by about 10 or 12 points. We nearly pulled the upset on Minnesota with only 3 players on the court. Sexton scored 40 points and Alabama lost 84-89. Pretty incredible and was nice to see following the Iron Bowl disaster, even though we lost.
Team has fallen apart for some reason. NIT is probably as good as it's going to get, unless we get a lucky streak in the SEC Tourney, which doesn't seem likely. We play A&M again next. Of course we've shown we can beat good teams in the past, so it's just a matter of if the team can pull it together.
People are crying for Avery to be fired, but I think it's pretty dumb. He's a NBA coach in transition, and he's shown he knows how to win in the NBA and he's shown since coming to Alabama he's capable of pulling in the talent. We'll only lose Sexton this year and he's got what looks like another good class coming in next year.
