Golden State Warriors free-agent forward Reggie Williams has signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with Caja Laboral Vitoria of the Spanish ACB League, Williams’ agent told Yahoo! Sports. The deal includes a $1 million buyout if Williams wants to return to the NBA this season. Under the NBA’s previous collective bargaining agreement, NBA teams could contribute up to $500,000 to buy out a player’s overseas contract.
“While Reggie’s dream of playing in the NBA is our primary focus, we think playing in the ACB will put him in a situation to be a sought-after free agent upon his return from Spain,” said Ron Shade, who represents Williams along with agent Herb Rudoy.
