He also has the most Stanley Cup rings for someone who is not in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Also he appeared in more All-Star games out of any player not in the HOF.

Scary to think he was only 50 when he died.

We hired Torts instead of promoting this guy.

The AHL playoffs may very well influence what (if anything) Nashville does with Saros this offseason.

We thought we knew that young Askarov was the heir apparent and might be ready next year to make Saros somewhat expendable. Hold your horses on that idea though. In their first AHL playoff round against the Texas Stars, Askarov started the first 2 games and lost 3-6 and 1-4. Milwaukee switched to Troy Grosenick for Game 3, 4 and 5 and rattled off 3 wins to advance to the next round.

Will be interesting to see who they start against Grand Rapids, but perhaps Askarov isnt quite ready for prime time yet. The talk that Nashville is discussing extension with Saros may be more than smoke.

Somehow, the prediction is that Demidov and Lindstrom are both on the board at 4 and the Jackets somehow pick Dickinson. And Iginla is available at 9 and the Flames pass. Neither of those things seems likely.

Note: Athletic changed their Top Level Domain to nytimes.com, so make sure your script blocker is blocking nytimes.com and you can read it. Like you did with theathletic.com.

Surin seems too good to be true. Kinda odd that there's still this many Russians going so early given that for 2 years no high level exec has been able to see any of them play in person.

Also, crazy to see a guy pegged to go in round 1 straight out of SAC. Has the NHL ever seen a first round pick out of a high school before?

If I recall correctly, the Sabres selected Tom Barrasso straight out of high school.
