Kid is a great back with tons of potential, one of those you hate to lose.
He doesn't have anything else to accomplish at Auburn and his stock isn't going to get any higher so its really a no brainer of a decision. He will be missed but I am confident that the other backs will step up to the plate.
Malzahn seems to get very good production out of his backs he did with Michael Dyer then with Mason and it makes sense he will do so with next years group. I honestly thought we over used Mason at times and could use a fresh set of legs in the game especially in the SEC Championship game.
I was pretty surprised he ran him so many times. Not that Mason couldn't do it (obviously) but because that's a lot of damn strain on RB. I've never been a big fan of putting that kind of load on a single back, especially a college back. You could tell it was wearing on him by the end of the game.

That's why Lattimore's career was short. Surprise rode him like an ass in the desert.
