Day to Day
I remember back in the 1980s and 1990s how exciting that the Baseball Winter Meetings were. Just between the Red Sox and Yankees there was enough trading and free agent news that newspaper could be published by both and still not cover everything that was going on.
George Steinbrenner was always the news at the Meetings and Dan Duquette or the Orioles or the Tigers would always try to one-up him.
The Winter Meetings have become as boring as the game itself. Owners and GMs started arriving Saturday night and yesterday and the media is standing around praying that someone will say something or do something. San Diego is San Deado right now.
