I'm not sure how it wasn't. It's written pretty clearly in the rule book, isn't it?

Yup, that was clearly an instance of letting the situation of the game determine the call when it should be made no matter the score or time remaining.

Holy shit was Johnson close though.

I guess you can do pull-ups on the rim now. Sweet.

perfect example of how much a home crowd influences the way refs call games

That's home court advantage right there because Herb Sendek is a Gawdawful coach.

While I am ok with the crowd storming not being called a T the fact that ASU crowd is routinely fucking up makes it an issue.

Storming early, back to back games of spitting and having fans tossed, the crowd got a T this year vs Marquette for throwing shit on the court. These are just the instances that I know of.

Why do they allow that shit to go on? There should never be a "storming of the court". And why even allow posters, drink bottles, and other bullshit for people to throw at all?

Look, AZ lost the game on FTs, and I'm glad they lost because of it, because they needed to see it actually cost them a game.

And I'm not trying to nit-pick, but why is there even a rule about issuing a tech if a team rushes the court early, if it's never called? Every situation is going to be heat of the moment, so if that's the case, it will never get called, and it shouldn't be a rule. But if it is, how do they just watch it happen and do nothing?

And of course it's the same thing with hanging on the rim for 3 seconds. It's the heat of the moment, but it's still a tech. They watched that happen too, and nothing.

Again, AZ lost at the line. But the refs lost control of this game, and it just sucks to watch them turn their back on two techs like that. Regardless of teams or the time. If they are all that blatant, what does it say about clearly turning your back on that as ref?

Tough game to watch. Neither team shot the ball well, especially from the free throw line. ASU's big guy, Bruzinski(sp) played inspired ball the entire game...and he is a big person. Strange they didn't work the ball into him more often as he was open a lot for slams, one time Nick Johnson was guarding him under the basket and they did not bring the ball to him. Such a difference with Brandon Ashley gone. Didn't see much of Hollis Jefferson as Gorden and Johnson again hit for a low percentage of shots. IMO, most Arizona fans will not be happy after watching that game. IMO, Arizona State is not that good of a team and I'm somewhat surprised with what I saw.

Storming the court is a tragedy waiting to happen IMHO. And anyone throwing anything should never be allowed back in a gymnasium.

^^^This^^^

If AZ sticks to getting it inside they win. But missed free throws and opportunities cost the Wildcats big time.

Maybe the rushing the court early rule is kind of like the speed limit. Cops don't care if you go 5 over the limit so maybe its ok to rush the court if their is less than a second left?

Agree with both. Last week it was spitting on players; this week, it's throwing a piece of what looked like poster board. What's going on at ASU???
