Look, I agree there was some home cooking with the game clock. Just like there really is at every stadium. I would say at most you might have expected it to be 3 seconds.

And yes, the ref set the ball before the chain gang got down there. I mean it's Pac12 refs. It's what they do. It is something every team playing in a game with Pac12 refs in it has to be prepared for.

It really isn't like there was a high probability of a play ending in a TD from near midfield. Oregon lost that game with horrible play all night. You can't give up nearly 500y to a rookie QB in his first game and a backup RB going like 122 or something. They had chances to convert and didn't and had chances to stop Utah and couldn't.

Ducks were not good away from home this year. Particularly on D. They have some serious soul searching to do and a lot more than a few tweaks if they have any hope of doing more with Herbert's Sr season. It isn't refs and some conspiracy or Vegas and a pile of cash.

So you think it's way more likely some guy named 3 fingers brown made a call and had that clock ran off late than it is a Utah staffer that runs the clock at home and it's their team?

I'm a nerd enough to actually pay attention and I can tell you that shit happens at EVERY single stadium in the country. I've seen 2-3 extra seconds ran off easily when the home town needs the clock to run out and at times seen it stop early when they need more time. There is a guy on the field that is supposed to keep the official time, but how often have you seen them ask to reset game clocks after official reviews?

Oregon needs to play better. There was a time when they won most games by 17+ and left no doubt. Those days appear to be in the rearview mirror.
