Old record was 4. How many different teams will be number 1 at some point this year?
Zags might hold it down for the rest of year
Definitely the best shot of the top teams to not lose again
Pretty incredible considering they lost their top 4 players from last year's team. Few has turned them into a top 10 program the last 5 years.
Just got a commitment from Jalen Suggs too.
Iowa was on on him til a few months ago but once he decided not to play 2 sports our shot went way down. Then with Bohannon redshirting that pretty much ended it. Good get for you guys though. He should be a great fit
weak upcoming draft class = bonkers and entertaining college basketball season
Might as well use this thread for Gonzaga news.
@tomcat1 I thought about you last night when Herb Sendek's Santa Clara Broncos team lost by 50 to the Zags
Now that's funny since I lobbied hard for Sendek to leave Raleigh just like I have been lobbying hard for our current head football coach to do the same thing since neither one of them will ever hold the title of 'Mr. Excitement or Mr. Passion' with the effort they put into their jobs.
Speaking of the Zags, if they didn't have such an easy schedule we would probably have several more different number 1s before this season is over. What do you think?
I agree with you, but this year's tourney is going to be wide open no matter what
I agree with you and this year's tourney might just be one of those rare years that no #1 seed even makes the final four. I'm not saying this will happen but it sure is possible.
Gonzaga going to beat BYU, but Petrusev hurt his right ankle.
Any update on Petrusev? Hope it isn't serious.
Does Baylor become another #1 this season? If they weren't voted #1 after winning at Texas Tech and KU last week, I doubt beating ISU and Oklahoma State will be enough to push them to #1. Unless voters just think they got it wrong last week.
Kispert apparently said it’s not as serious as it looked. Helps we’ve only got one game at home, on Saturday, this week.
That's good. That'll give him some time to heal up. Looks like the St Mary's game isn't until February so that should give him about 3 weeks until that one to hopefully be 100 percent.
Looks like the 30th against Santa Clara is the return date.
Petrusev started tonight. Looks fine so far.
