Eh not sure on that. He's nowhere NEAR sniffing my bust radar like Clowney was. I called that kid a bust from DAY ONE and actually (unlike RG Knee) got little rebuttal from this board. I think everyone knew that was coming.
I got tons of shit for Clowney if I remember right. Might be misremembering- I didn't like that class as pass rushers much either.

Yep..."at least".

I think Ben missed 2 or 3 weeks with that injury and came back too fast.

If the Browns are smart, they will let that heal completely because it can be like a bad hammy and linger all season if they don't.

What advantage is there for a losing team to rush back a rookie anyway? Let him get healthy before throwing him out there.

Wasn't Aaron Donald in that class? Major whiff for me.

I was big on Donald when he was being projected as a second rounder. Mid first seemed a little high, but was glad to get him. He basically swept the awards he was reasonably eligible for as a senior.

None...well, nobody is really a losing team yet for this season...lol.

Ideally you want your franchise DEF player out there really for the fans gaining experience, etc. Like you said, don't rush the kid back to a 4-12 season.

Have you seen the daily fantasy football commercial? Only team reference was about starting anyone vs Cleveland lol. Browns get no respect...

Is Clowney universally considered a bust? He had a pretty solid year last year.

I wouldn't think so.

Everyone knows that it takes a minimum of three years to evaluate draft picks. Yet those same people will label guys "busts" halfway through their rookie season.

Hell... they're calling guys busts halfway through the 2nd quarter of their second preseason game ever .

High ankle sprain. Sounds like he will miss 2-3 weeks. Real bummer.

A lot of that going on with Denver fans with Paxton Lynch right now. I don't get it.

I wouldn't call him a bust either.

But the eyebrows should start raising about the 26th overall pick (traded an additional 3rd to get there) who can't even get onto the field in his second season. All because he can't beat out a 7th round pick from the previous draft.

Meh. No reason to rush a guy if he's not ready, IMO. If he's still not ready to start next year, then we may have some problems.

I guess that's my whole point. In today's NFL it's completely understandable (and desirable) to sit your "franchise" QB his rookie season.

It is also completely reasonable to expect him to start his second season.
