Rico Gathers has not played football since he was 13 i think they said but this guy is a freakish athlete and stands 6 foot 7 247 pounds. I would love to get him as a UDFA just to see if this basketball player can convert to TE.

I don't think he will come to us as a UDFA because i feel he will then choose to stick close to home if not drafted.

What are your thoughts about using our last pick on this guy? I do not expect him to be a starter but i feel he could make the PS and very well could bloom into something special with his athletic prowess. I feel this could be a pretty rewardable selection if he pans out and if not meh it was only a conditional 7th.

I don't know there is just something about this guy to me, but i won't lie i felt that way about Konz also.

Just saw his interview, interesting idea. Won't be upset if the Seahawk gave it a try, but kind of a wild idea.

i agree and that's why i like it. Even wilder is if it pans out :D that would be sweet! I just feel he might just be something special if football comes to him and he works extra hard.

I'm all for picking the athletic long shot in the 7th and seeing if the investment couldn't pay off. Much better than the DE to OG we've been doing!

Did he drop weight? He was listed last year at 6'8" - 275.

I'd say see if he can pack on some pounds and play tackle.

What about DT. Just put him at DT and give him Bennett's Mission. Wagner Points at the QB and Tells Rico to "Sic him". As well would work good against Screens with his basketball skills

6'8 275 as a DT? C'mon man....

He'll get absolutely zero leverage on any pro guard/center and just be bowled back 24/7.

As an OT, all about footwork... and he'd need to be Walter Jones level at that to even get a CHANCE at practice squad given a 25-35lb weight differential.

Wishful thinking guys.

Would rather just take some prototypical size/athlete in the 7th and call it a day.

Can not Believe the Cowboys Drafted Rico in the 6th. I totally understand using say a LATE 7th on the guy but a 6th? head scratcher but they must have really liked this guy who has not played football since he was 13.

It's the Cowboys. 152-152 since '97.

Now, that I was snarky - the Cowboys didn't have a 7th - so they used their last available pick for him. So, it was a sixth, but to them - it might as well have been a 7th. Not really a bad move overall.
