For Notre Dame:

1. Navy
2. USC
3. Stanford

Those are the top 3 for sure.

4. Michigan State
5. Purdue

Michigan, Boston College, Pitt, Army are the next tier. Miami was big in the 70's and 80's, and PSU was big in the 80's.

Who's the worst to lose to? I can't imagine it's Navy.

The Navy game is about more than football. I look at it in terms of games ND can absolutely not drop. It would be quite an embarrassment to ND, if ND ever stopped playing Navy on an annual basis. And losing to them certainly stings. Beating USC and Stanford will always mean more, just because they will always be better for the most part.

And every year is different if you're asking the question, "who's the worst to lose to" The "Bush Push" game was the hardest lost to swallow, after that, at least for me, it was 2005 against Michigan State and 2007 against Navy.

If you have to announce your biggest rivalries, they probably aren't real rivalries.

1. OU
2.Arkansas-still an ugly rivalry, with a lot more history than the a&m game.
3.a&m-rivalry had lost all steam, but with them leaving ironically it picked up
4.Tech-mike leach and Michael Crabtree made this one good during the BCS era
5.Baylor-schools are very close together, and of course Baylor is currently the kings of the big 12

Well fuck! Sorry Texas. We are no longer a rivalry. Xulu has spoken.

No doubt about the Texas\Arkansas one. There was some genuine hate in that series.

Doesn't big ten have a bunch of lame trophies for every conference game?

Hardly unique to the Big Ten and most of the "trophy rivalries" are extremely old. Talking over a century, so when the college football landscape was very different. There are certainly exceptions, but I think they're generally more about long-standing traditions, than being major rivalries.

Question for you Texas guys...state and university. Have a lot of friends/family that are alumni of UT, A&M, Baylor and Tech. From what I observed during the SWC and Big 12 days, Baylor and Tech fans had more hatred and disdain for A&M than UT fans did. Why? What did A&M do to those two? I never heard of them stealing Midnight or the Bear.
