Yonex Team eZone XI. They are so flexible I have to swing out of my ass to get the ball over the net unless someone hits a lot of pace at me. At my age I need to look at getting a stiffer racquet. I have so much lead tape on this thing I look more like the tin man.

Whatever I could pick up at Canadian Tire for under $70.

Some cheapo Wilson.

I could use Serby's racquet and still suck balls.....

I could be wrong, but were Wilson and Prince better in the 90s, and have Head, Yonnex, etc. surpassed them?

Or maybe it's not so much about being better, as it is just more conducive to one's style of play.

You are not imagining it. Prince and Wilson got very gimmicky with grommets and such and let the others catch up and even pass them for the most part. Prince is pretty much done. Wilson has made a comeback though. Babolat has taken the lead for now with Yonnex improving quite a bit the last 10 years. Head has been steady.

I have actually used all except Babolat so far. I demoed them but they were really stiff.

I watched the French. We are French toast, croissants, quiche, fromage, and drank French roast coffee.

:)

Did you do this with the biggest matches, or the ones you were looking forward to most?

A poster from another forum, years ago, also said he wanted to eat creme brulee while watching the FO.

Thanks. Did that pic only have fromage, or did it also have another cheese (like brie)?

I just do it for the Slam Men's Finals.
Aussie: BBQ shrimp. Cooper's beer.
French: French cheese, French toast, French roast, quiche, and sometimes champagne.
Wimbledon: strawberries n creme, English breakfast tea, scones
USOpen: pizza and a New York beer

Btw, I thought fromage just meant cheese.

Great post.

I sometimes also eat special food / drink for big games, but it's never as completely themed as yours have been.

Do you do this every year, for the Finals? How long have you been doing it?

For the pizza, do you make your own, or have a special place you get it delivered from?

What's your favorite New York beer?

What's been your favorite Final to watch, while having these themed meals? Maybe pick a few, or one from each major. Whatever has ended up being the most fun for you, both because of the meal, and the quality of the match.

I have gone from Wilson ProStaff 5.9, to Head TiHeat, to Dunlop m-fil 200 and back to Wilson.

I hit with BLX six one now and enjoy it. String pattern is just what I need to get spin on the ball and have good control. I have two black ones and a white in my bag
