It' tough for me to narrow it down to just one, so I'll go ahead a list a bunch of honorable mentions, even though I won't hit the full list:

Band of Heathens, Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Allman-Betts Band, Ryan Bingham, Cactus Blossoms, Wilco(they're old, but still make good music), Drive By Truckers, Turnpike Troubadours, Jason Isbell, Jamey Johnson, Brent Cobb etc

But if I had to name a favorite, mine would be:

Tame Impala is my favorite current artist. Technically, people like Eminem and Bruce Springsteen (who would both be in my top ~15 artists of all time) are still "current" in that they are still releasing new music, but I don't think that's what OP is getting at.

Cannot wait for The Slow Rush. I truly think Kevin Parker is one of the most talented musicians in the history of popular music. "Let It Happen" is one of the greatest psychedelic freak-me songs of all time, and this is coming from a guy who thinks EDM music sucks ass (though it's not like I've ever listened to it extensively).

This is such a great fucking guitar track. Reminds me of Hendrix on "Bold as Love" or "Little Wing" but a bit crisper.

I liked Tame Impala up until this last album (which sounded way too synth heavy for me).

My favorite "new/current" band is probably Rival Sons.

Also a fan of The Black Keys. I'm a big Alt-J fan too.

Guilty pleasure, The 1975.

I don't know if I have a favorite current, but this album is great. Debut album.

They're great. Have seen them twice now. Saw em' back in May, at Stoned and Dusted. Met em' all and got pics with em'. Super nice guys. Their bass player is smooth af, and looks like he's 12. lol

Scary thing is, they're from my hometown and I apparently haven't been paying attention lol.
