FSU will stay in Florida; once the conference winner is taken by the Orange, the other bowls are not obligated to run down the standings and pick. FSU will sell way more tickets than GT will, and the Belk Bowl in Charlotte will take UNC over GT for the same reason, thus relegating GT to California. NC State will not be bowl eligible as they still need 3 more wins, and still play UNC and Clemson. They will be lucky to win 2 more games this year.

NC State has won the past 4 against UNC, and UNC was favored in all 4 of those. I wouldn't put it past NC State to pull the upset once again. Their other 2 wins should come against Maryland and BC, easily.

I agree, especially after the crap UNC's interim coach has spewed about N.C. State's academics this week. That ought to be a hard-hitting, penalty-filled game.

Yes, I'm so sorry that we overachieved this season... we were prognosticated to be an 8 or 9 win team at most (including the bowl game). Maybe if some other teams would actually step up and not choke year in and year out (Miami, FSU, VT on the national stage) we wouldn't have a perception issue...

Sucks for the entire ACC imo. If clemson and VT had faced off as 2 top 5-6 teams, the winner would have had a huge argument for the BCScg.

No excuses here; go look at my predictions for our season (http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/clemson-tigers/45523-revised-season-outlook.html). We over achieved in a year where FSU was supposed to far and away dominate the Atlantic. People also tend to forget that NC State was 9-4 last year and were predicted to finish second behind FSU.

We did our part to win the division and still have an excellent chance at a 10+ win season, the ACC, and a BCS bowl. I'd say that's pretty dadgum good coming off a 6-7 season and being picked fourth in the Atlantic.

Whats the rule for the order bowls can select a team? Can they choose anyone, or do they have to pick based on wins and losses. Isnt UNC basically a lock for the Military bowl, or can UNC be picked before UVA, Wake, Gt, etc?
